Entertainment News Friday January 23, 2015 17:26 —PRESS RELEASE LOCAL

Bangkok--23 Jan--Brand Now IPPUDO, the world-famous ramen restaurant chain from Japan, today opened its second branch at The Emporium Shopping Complex. This second outlet comes less than six months since the opening of its first restaurant in August 2014 at Central Embassy. With over 80 stores in Japan, and over 45 international stores in places such as New York, Sydney, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taipei, Seoul, Shanghai, Kuala Lumpur, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Beijing, Chengdu, Chongqing, Bangkok, Manila, Jakarta and London. IPPUDO (pronounced ih-PU-doh) has gained a worldwide following with customers patiently queuing for a taste of what many have dubbed “cosmos in a bowl”: a signature rich and flavourful tonkotsu (pork-based) broth combined with delicate home-made noodles made from a secret recipe. IPPUDO at Central Embassy has proven to be highly popular, with both Bangkok and international diners queuing up, eager for a taste of IPUDDO’s renowned ramen and other signature dishes. The second outlet is located on the 4th floor of The Emporium and features a casual, family style dining with an open kitchen. IPPUDO will continue to serve its signature ramen dishes to loyal ramen connoisseurs - the classic Hakata-style Shiromaru Motoaji (IPPUDO's original tonkotsu broth served with ultra-thin noodles, pork loin, bean sprouts, kikurage mushroom & spring onions), the refined modern style Akamaru Shinaji (IPPUDO's original tonkotsu broth enhanced with special blended miso paste and fragrant garlic oil and served with thin noodles, pork belly, kikurage mushroom and spring onions), and the spicy special, Karaka-men (IPPUDO's original tonkotsu broth with special spicy miso, cashew nuts & ground pork), along with all-time favourite side dishes including Hakata-style Gyoza, Pork Bun, Seared Salmon Roll with Mentaiko and Bakuretsu Tofu. New items on the menu features the three signature ramen with Kakuni (tender pork cubes simmered in IPPUDO special soy sauce) topping and the seasonal Shoyu Ramen featuring special chicken clear broth served with IPPUDO’s homemade pork loin, thick and straight noodles, bamboo shoots, leeks, narutomaki fishcake and spinach. As IPPUDO’s second outlet is located in a predominantly residential neighbourhood, the restaurant also plans to introduce a kid’s menu on January 26th, making Thailand the second country in Asia to offer this. The IPPUDO empire was founded in 1985 in Japan’s ramen capital of Hakata (Fukuoka City) by Shigemi Kawahara. Crowned the Ramen King in 2005, Kawahara holds a place in the Ramen Hall of Fame after winning the championship three consecutive times on a reputable TV show ramen competition. In an interview, he told the reporter, “I strongly desire that through a humble bowl of ramen, the Japanese spirit can be spread around the world.” As in their outlets worldwide, IPPUDO will ensure a consistent quality here by using fresh local products, secret soup recipes, and authentic Japanese cooking methods and ramen production. At IPPUDO, the noodles are made fresh and in-house daily. Website: www.ippudo.co.th Facebook: www.facebook.com/ippudothailand Instagram: www.instagram.com/ippudothailand
