Bangkok--24 Sep--The Sukosol, Bangkok
To celebrate 30 years of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Kingdom of Thailand, The Ambassador of His Majesty the King of Morocco to Thailand, H.E. Mr. Abdelilah El Housni and Kamala Sukosol, President of the Thai-Moroccan Friendship Association, are pleased to present a week-long celebration of Moroccan culture, starting with a Grand Gala dinner 'A Moroccan Night in Bangkok' at The Sukosol Bangkok on Friday 2 October 2015.
"A Moroccan Night in Bangkok" will highlight Morocco's unique cultural heritage from cuisine, to arts, to fashion, to entertainment with special delicacies carefully chosen and prepared by a talented Moroccan Chef coming directly from Casablanca for this auspicious occasion. Moroccan cuisine is famous for its outstanding flavours and aromas. Its dishes along with the incredible Moroccan Mint Tea Ceremony trace the country's long history of generosity and hospitality. In 2010, UNESCO listed Moroccan cuisine as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The evening will also feature an exclusive look at masterful couture creations based on Morocco's traditional dresses that are praised throughout the world – the Caftans and Takchitas that embody Moroccan authenticity, refinement and elegance. Some of the most famous artists in the world, as well as well-known icon Elizabeth Taylor, fell in love with these outstanding Moroccan dresses. The collection that will be presented during the Gala is made with the finest fabrics and sequins by renowned Moroccan designer Albert Oiknine.
A musical performance by the famous Moroccan Sufi singer Thami El Harrak will undoubtedly enchant the audience with its sacred and beautiful Andalucian melodies. Another highlight of the night will be the display of a typical Moroccan wedding ceremony. Weddings in Morocco are truly a one thousand and one night dream! Many other elements of Moroccan heritage are to be discovered throughout the night such as the renowned Argan oil, exceptional local handicrafts, traditional Henna tattoos and exotic and splendid tours of the most stunning Moroccan cities!
The festivities will continue all week with a Moroccan Festival: display of Moroccan handicrafts, argan oil, henna and authentic cuisine prepared by our visiting Moroccan Chef at Patummat Restaurant from Saturday 3 to Sunday 11 October 2015.
