Girolle mushrooms are one of the most prized and sought after wild mushrooms due to their exquisite taste with an aroma that hints of fruity apricots. Available all year round from our suppliers throughout Europe and the USA, Girolle are very versatile and work well with many different recipes. Try serving them with griddled scallops and a drizzle of port wine sauce.
Trompette mushrooms are known in France as the Horn of Plenty, where these wild, hand-foraged, intensely flavored mushrooms make great soups and sauces. They are often found as a gourmet accompaniment to venison and their color is used to make visually dramatic additions to any savory dish.
Portobello mushrooms are grown to a large size which makes them lose some moisture, giving them a meaty texture and earthy taste. Portabella mushrooms are a great meat substitute as they contain no fat, sodium, or cholesterol.
