City Automobiles to publicly unveil the Range Rover Sport and Range Rover Hybrid Bangkok Motor Expo, Impact Muang Thong Thani, 2 – 13 December, 2015
City Automobiles will introduce the very first Hybrid versions of the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, at the Bangkok Motor Expo 2015, to be held at Muang Thong Thani from 2nd to 13th of December.
The derivative brings together two of the most recent innovations in the Range Rover line-up in vehicles that offers an unprecedented combination of premium luxury, interior space, Sport's agility, dynamic performance, exceptional fuel, and emissions performance and no compromise in Land Rover's renowned breadth of capability.
Together with the Range Rover Sport and the Range Rover, the hybrid powertrain will be the first diesel hybrid model from any manufacturer to be offered in Thailand.
Range Rover and Range Rover Sport Hybrid engines are the first diesel SUV of its kind in the world. It has been designed and engineered to deliver class-leading capability and versatility. By fully integrating the hybrid technologies into the chassis, nothing has been lost in ground clearance, approach and departure angles or the 900mm wading depth (Range Rover). Innovative engineering ensures the transmission of energy between battery and engine is seamless. This energy is created by the Regenerative Braking process, which captures and stores kinetic energy in the battery, normally lost through braking. This is then used to power the electric motor and ensures that torque is instantly available on demand so the vehicle maintains unrivalled breadth of capability and performance.
Range Rover and Range Rover Sport Hybrid offer four selectable driving modes: Electric Vehicle (EV) On, Electric Vehicle (EV) Off, Sport Mode (with torque triggered from less pedal pressure) and Auto Stop/Start (cut) which increases charging opportunities.
The 3.0L LR-SDV6 Diesel engine with a 35kW electric motor generates an impressive 700Nm of torque resulting in the same performance as the SDV8 Diesel but with 13% lower (25g/km less) CO2 emissions when compared to the LR-TDV6 engine at 164g/km.
