Coca-Cola, the popular brand of beverages in Thailand and the world, holds an exclusive 'Share a Coke, Share a Feeling' party today. Coke is the first brand in Thailand to offer emoticons - graphic icons used to express feelings online - printed with positive and fun messages on Coke's PET bottles and cans. The purpose of today's party is to invite Thais to use the 39 special edition Coke emoticon cans and bottles to share their feelings, and build special small moments with one another, through them.
The fizzy fun event was initiated by executives of the Coca-Cola system in Thailand led by Mr. Antonio Del Rosario, General Manager of Coca-Cola (Thailand) Ltd.;Mr. Pornwut Sarasin, Chairman of ThaiNamthip Co., Ltd., and Maj. Gen. Patchara Rattakul, Chief Operating Officer of HaadThip Plc. together with Ms. Claudia Navarro, Marketing Director, Coca-Cola (Thailand) Ltd. and Mr. Akira Nopakunkajorn, Marketing Manager for Sparkling Beverages, Coca-Cola (Thailand) Ltd. Special guests 'Toey' Jarinporn Joonkiat and 'Son' Yuke Songpaisan led the trend of sharing a feeling using emoticon-printed Coke.
Using some of the emoticon cans in her launch speech, Ms. Claudia Navarro, Marketing Director, Coca-Cola (Thailand) Ltd., said, "I am feeling fired up, as we launch the third edition of our 'Share a Coke' campaign in Thailand. This year, we are using visual language that we are all familiar with: emoticons, and we have translated this online trend to real life. To do so, we developed a proprietary set of 39 emoticons. What makes them exclusive is the fact that we have integrated our distinctive brand elements into the designs: the bottle cap, the dynamic ribbon, the Coke silhouette; while also staying true to our brand colour palette. The end result is a distinctive visual approach that sets our collection apart from generic emoticons."
"My hope is that everyone realises how cool these designs are, and how much fun you can have by using them to share messages with friends and family. In fact, I have challenged myself to get all 39 cans and use them in different occasions", said Ms. Navarro.
Joining Ms. Navarro in the event was Mr. Akira Nopakunkajorn, Marketing Manager for Sparkling Beverages, Coca-Cola (Thailand) Ltd. who highlighted: "On top of broadly launching the emoticon packs nationwide, Thailand is the first market in the region to allow you to create your own emoticon cans. Given that we know that people will be engaged with year-end festivities, we were certain they would have something unique and special to say to someone! For this purpose we are launching interactive, personalising stations in many locations across the country between November.14th and December 6th.
"Furthermore, to make it more exciting for consumers to 'Share a Coke, Share a Feeling', we will launch 'Coke Emoticon Animated Sticker' on LINE application. Altogether 16 designs portraying all sorts of emotions will be available for use by consumers for online chat and communication. The animated stickers can be downloaded for free from 10 November 2015 onwards," said Mr. Akira.
Coke has a special offer for Thai people to own their personalised Coke with emoticon. Simply buy a six pack of Coke in the 325-ml sleek can and bring the receipt and a 325-ml can to Coke's activity booth to have it turned into a free special edition can with your name and face printed as a one-of-a-kind emoticon.
