Mitsubishi Motors Thailand (MMTh) made the Thai premiere of the "2016 New Mirage : Be More" at the 32nd Thailand International Motor Expo. The New Mirage enters the 2016 model year with its refreshed design for more sporty, newly added safety features as the first time in ECO-car class, and achieved the best in class of 23.8 kilometers / liter*1 fuel efficiency. The new model comes with a price tag starting of 383,000 – 567,000 baht. Booking begins at the event during 1-13 December 2015 and affiliated dealership throughout Thailand today and the delivery is scheduled to be in January 2016.
Mr. Morikazu Chokki, President and CEO of Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd., (MMTh), today arrange Press Conference to introduce the "2016 New Mirage" in Thailand at the 32nd Thailand International Motor Expo, IMPACT Muangthong Thani, Nonthaburi. Starts booking at the event and 223 Mitsubishi showrooms nationwide from today, the new Mirage are scheduled to be delivered in January 2016.
"Mirage" is positioned as an entry model in Mitsubishi Motors (MMC) model lineup which has been developed to MMC's innovative "Global Small Concept" and made at a brand-new third factory at Mitsubishi Motors Thailand's (MMTh) Laem Chabang Plant. It was introduced as the world Premiere in Thailand since March 2012 as an Eco-car and enjoys a broad user base in 93 countries with cumulative units sales at the end of October 2015 reaching some 320,000 units which over 83,000 units are domestic sales volume in Thailand.
The 2016 New Mirage has been improved for the next stage of "BE MORE" with 3 key concepts; "Stylish" -- Its exterior and interior was refurbished with design concept of "the Spicy Small" to be more Stylish and Sporty with three new body colors; Wine Red, Sunrise Orange and Titanium Grey; "Smart Safety" -- very advanced safety devices are equipped for the first time in ECO-car class; "Saving" -- achieved the best in class of gasoline engine 23.8 kilometers / liter* 1 fuel efficiency and also realize low CO2 emissions of 98g / km* 2.
According to the condition of Eco car phase 2, the improvement of the New Mirage can achieve all conditions comprising of Fuel consumption under 4.3 Liter / 100 km., CO2 emission under 100 gram / km. and comply with Emission Level Euro 5, Front & Side Body Crash Test and Active Safety devices.

"Stylish"…
- With its refreshed design for more Stylish and Sporty, the 2016 New Mirage features a more unique appearance with higher-quality material. The engine hood, grille, front and rear bumper together with chrome front lower grille garnish and LED tail lights round out the new exterior design. The GLS-LTD and GLS models trim levels come standard with a Projector Bi-XENON HID headlamp with spectrum LED position lamps, front fog lamps and rear spoiler with LED high-mount stop lamp which achieve both aerodynamics and rear visibility, and two-tone 15-inch alloy wheels.
- New body colors; Wine Red, Sunrise Orange and Titanium Grey.
- Inside, New Mirage uses black as the interior trim keynote color; the center console panel, power window switch (Front / Rear door) and gear shift knob are decorated in Piano Black. In the GLS-LTD and GLS trim levels use new seat fabrics with silver stitch and new three-spoke leather wrap steering wheel uses a stylish chrome and piano black finish, imparting a more sporty look. A new illuminated semi-high contrast combination gauge cluster is standard on GLS-LTD, GLS and GLX models. In addition, it packs a good amount of comfort and convenient features in 2DIN DVD Touch Screen Monitor including audio control switch with voice command and hands free on steering wheel for GLS and GLX models.
"Smart Safety"…
- Advance safety features are equipped with GLS-LTD and GLS for the first time in Eco Car;
o Forward Collision Mitigation System - Low Speed Range (FCM), which uses a laser radar monitor the vehicle ahead and detect an impending impact and either avoid it or mitigate the extent of impact damage by warning the driver or by automatically applying the vehicle brakes which speed up to approximately 30 km. / h.
o Radar sensing Misacceleration Mitigation System – Forward (RMS), uses Radar sensors to detect obstructions within approximately 4 meter in front the vehicle and regulates engine power while emitting an audible warning when the driver depresses the accelerator promptly and too strongly which speed up to approximately 10 km. / h.
- Every 2016 Mirage comes equipped with a wide array of safety features and technologies. These include an Active Stability Control (ASC); Hill Start Assist System (HSA); Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA); front dual SRS airbags; and 3-point ELR pretensioner with force limiter front seat belts. 2-way pretensioner seatbelts is available in GLS-LTD and GLS.
- The Mirage uses Mitsubishi's RISE body design which effectively absorbs and disperses impact forces in collisions from all directions to provide high levels of crashworthiness and also features high tensile steel to key section of its body and chassis that process excellent structural rigidity.

- The 2016 new Mirage achieves the best in class (gasoline engine) 23.8 kilometers / liter *1 fuel efficiency and also realize low CO2 emissions of 98g / km*2 with newly added technologies to make less friction in the engine compartments such as Diamond like carbon coated piston ring, Low friction Timing Chain, and Multistage Generation Control with IBS (IBS-Intelligent Battery Sensor).
- Powered by a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder DOHC MIVEC 12-Valve engine which are available in both 5-speed manual transmission and Mitsubishi's INVECS-III CVT transmission with INC (Idle Neutral Control) and G-SENSOR.
- Euro 5 adaptation.
