Bangkok--23 Mar--Hyundai Motor Official 2016 launch of Thailand's best-selling MPVs – the new H-1 and the Grand Starex On a showcase tour: First time in Thailand, the Genesis – Hyundai's high-end, powerful and luxurious sedan Introducing Hyundai's H-1 product ambassador – a special song dedicated to promoting Hyundai's H-1 theme "For all lives" Hyundai Motor (Thailand) Co., Ltd. unveils to the public the latest additions to its best-selling range of large MPVs, the 2016 H-1 and the Grand Starex, and for the first time in Thailand, the Genesis, Hyundai's high-end, powerful and luxurious sedan is on display. Three vehicles that firmly showcase that the brand is all about Premium Modernity for all types of customers. Participating at the 37th Bangkok International Motor Show 2016, with a theme of 'No Boundaries Mobility', the Hyundai stand presents a wide-range of its lineup – the best- selling MPVs H-1 and Grand Starex, sporty sedan Elantra, high performance SUV -Tucson, and 3-door coupe Veloster. "Even though across-the-board vehicles sales in Thailand may have been flat last year, I am happy to say that Hyundai Motor (Thailand) closed 2015 with 4,227 units sold - a positive 4 percent sales increase compared to 2014. We may expect another gloomy 2016, but we are still confident to continue our positive sales again from our solid plan – launching 3 new products as well as dealership expansion, and new communication campaign roll out" said Mr.Hideki Yanagisawa, the president of Hyundai Motor (Thailand) Co., Ltd. "Our booth concept is Modern Premium, a vision that is Hyundai's global brand identity, and we apply this regardless of whether we are a major player or a new market entrant. Modern Premium is reflected in the booth design, and of course, in the exceptional show vehicles that encapsulate modern and advanced technologies coupled with comfort." Yanagisawa added. The new Hyundai H-1 and the Grand Starex have again set the benchmark for the premium MPV market as both deliver premium and technological advances to their drivers and passengers. Not only do the two models show off new exterior and interior designs but a host of other changes that make them the best in class. Design improvements include body re-designs, new front grilles, daytime running lights, courtesy lamps and new alloy wheels. The interior also boasts revised seating designs, and a new 13.3" roof-mounted LCD in the passenger cabin that is fully HDMI-capable providing full entertainment options that mimics a living room. Other new technology and practical options introduced in these new products are new dual-powered sliding doors providing ease of access from both sides, and the first MPV with a smart view system that provides a 360 degree view on a high definition screen that enhances ease of parking and maneuvering. "We are confident the discerning Thai customer will welcome these new vehicles and that they will continue to sell very well, maintaining Hyundai's domination in this segment", Yanagisawa stated. The song lyrics and concept tell the story that live is nothing without family – the characteristics of our H-1 family," continued Yanagisawa. A mini-concert by Two-Popetorn will be held on March 26, and every customer who makes booking during this motor show will receive a limited edition single CD. Hyundai's Genesis marque was born in 2005. The name, Genesis, implies an origin of something completely original, with a human-centric focus. Genesis sedan sets new standards of luxury by connecting mobility with cutting edge technology to anticipate the driver's needs and move him in superlative comfort and safety. Designed with a 'Fluidic Sculpture 2.0' philosophy, the 2016 Hyundai Genesis lends a modern, premium and sophisticated silhouette that evokes power and comfort. One of the most positively-reviewed high-end sedans in the United States market, the Genesis has a refined hexagonal front grille, HID headlamps, LED indicators and fog lamps, while a sleek C-pillar emphasize the sporty styling. The rear of the Genesis benefits from a strong and sporty dynamic with aesthetically sculptured full LED-tail lamps. Powered by 3.8 liter direct injected Lambda engine with Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing (D-CVVT), the Genesis produces 315 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 397 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. It gives excellent power while direct injection technology provides a significant reduction in emissions.
