Show vehicles hint at exciting new direction for Thai pickup truck and SUV market 2016 Chevrolet Captiva on display is first SUV in Thailand to support Apple CarPlaySpecial promotions offered for customers and visitors through end of April
Chevrolet Sales Thailand today unveiled at the 37th Bangkok International Motor Show two show vehicles that hint at an exciting new direction for the automaker's popular pickup truck and SUV in the Thai market. The Colorado Xtreme and Trailblazer Premier also offer a strong hint about Chevrolet's future design direction.
GM Thailand and Chevrolet Sales Thailand Managing Director Marcos Purty said, "These show vehicles were created to inject excitement and passion into the critical pickup truck and SUV segments, and reinforce Chevrolet's commitment to the Thai market."
Vanchana Unakul, general director of Engineering for GM Thailand and Southeast Asia, added: "The two vehicles have the same platform but completely different personalities. The show trucks are an exploration into the platform's significant potential and versatility."
The Colorado Xtreme delivers on the promise of a tough American pickup truck. With its dramatic engine hood scoop, side plates on the sports bar and safari bar, it looks purposeful, capable and tough. The Xtreme's ruggedness continues inside through new auxiliary gauges and accessories such as a passenger grab handle on the side of the instrument panel and the inclusion of an inclinometer.
Other details on the Xtreme include 18-inch full-mud terrain tires, an 8-inch color touch screen, and the latest MyLink system equipped with the latest Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto connectivity technology.
The Trailblazer Premier is an SUV designed for families that love to escape the beaten path but in the comfort of luxurious sophistication. It is subtle and softer in terms of color and materials. This is emphasized through the use of bright chrome and premium materials such as Australian timber that was hand-picked and crafted.
With driver and passenger comfort at the forefront, the trim and execution of the Trailblazer Premier's interior have been taken to the next level. The unique use of color, texture and materials creates a premium feel not usually found in the segment. New trim techniques and processes such as bespoke piping on seat trims and handmade netting on the back of the driver and front passenger seats add to the tailored and premium feel of the vehicle.
In addition to the show vehicles, visitors to Chevrolet's booth will meet the new 2016 Chevrolet Captiva SUV. It is the first SUV in Thailand that supports Apple CarPlay®, via its enhanced, 7-inch capacitive MyLink touch screen with more colorful and legible graphics and icons. It is 30 percent faster than before, for more convenience. It also allows for hands-free operation via voice commands for calling and sending messages.
In addition, the Captiva is the first Chevrolet model with Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, for easier and safer driving.
One of the most noticeable changes to the exterior of the 2016 Captiva is the treatment to the front end, which is more compact and has integrated LED daytime running lights. The front grille has also been redesigned, with the Chevrolet bowtie repositioned on the upper section of the signature dual-port grille. The overall treatment gives the SUV a refreshed, high-tech and contemporary feel.
Inside, driver information can be customized via switches next to the steering wheel. Other enhancements include individual tire pressure readings, and reconfigured and white-backlit center stack buttons, for better visibility and driver ergonomics.
At the motor show, Chevrolet is also showcasing a special edition of the popular Trailblazer SUV. The Trailblazer Urban Pack II is adorned with additional design features that add to the ruggedness without impacting the vehicle's premium and sophisticated appearance. New features on the Trailblazer Urban Pack II include a body-colored, roof-mounted rear spoiler; an anti-scratch rear bumper; chrome door trims; LED daytime running lights; two-tone alloy wheels; and a 10.1-inch roof-mounted LED monitor.
The Urban Pack II is available on the Trailblazer 2.8L AT 4WD LTZ1. It comes with a choice of three body colors: Summit White, Black Sapphire and Auburn Brown. The Trailblazer Urban Pack II is available for THB 1,512,000.
In addition to seeing exciting new models and show vehicles, visitors to Chevrolet's booth can check out the Chevrolet accessories zone and special promotions in conjunction with the motor show, particularly the ever-popular trade-in program.
