TAPA 2016 Prepares to Showcase Thai Manufacturers’ Potential

Bangkok--31 Mar--Tiger Distribute & Logistics Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce, has collaborated with the private sector in Thailand's auto parts industry to organize Thailand Auto Parts & Accessories 2016 (TAPA 2016) to showcase the potential of Thai manufacturers and attract international buyers and importers to source for a multitude of products during 7-10 April 2016 at BITEC, Bangkok. Mrs. Malee Choklumlerd, DITP's Director General, revealed at a press conference to announce TAPA 2016, held today (22 March 2016) at the Ministry of Commerce that "Thailand now ranks the 12th largest automobile manufacturer in the world and we are ASEAN's leader in the auto parts industry. The automobile and auto parts export value in 2015 reaches $31,361 million and is expected to increase by 3.8% to $32,564 in 2016. The major export markets are Australia, Japan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Middle East." Thailand Auto Parts & Accessories 2016 (TAPA 2016) is organized by the DITP, in collaboration with Thai Auto Parts Manufacturers Association (TAPMA), Worachak Automotive Synergy Association (WASA), Thai Auto Parts Aftermarket Association (TAPAA) and Thai Subcontracting Promotion Association (Thai Subcon). The event, held under the theme of "World Auto Parts Sourcing Hub, The Green Innovation High Quality Product for Sustainable Growth", will present high quality auto parts and accessories as well as environment friendly innovations in an international trade arena to shine a spotlight on Thailand as a major sourcing hub of auto parts and accessories in the world. TAPA 2016 will be ASEAN's premiere auto parts trade fair to showcase new products, technologies and innovations. It encourages the industry to develop its potential to prepare for ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) and to utilize safe and environment friendly technologies to answer the needs of the world's automotive industry. TAPA 2016 will feature 590 exhibitors in 1,000 booths from Thailand and more than 10 countries in EU, Asia and ASEAN and the event is expected to welcome more than 10,000 visitors from ASEAN, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, Africa, EU, China, India, the Middle East, South America, Russia, etc. It is expected that the event will generate approximately ฿2,100 million of trade value from order within one year. Exciting activities at TAPA 2016 include exhibitions and Product Showcase from leading automobile and parts manufacturers which present the latest technologies in automobile and parts.
