Ford Thailand Technicians Garner Top Awards at Ford’s 3rd Annual Technical Skills and Quick Service Competition

Bangkok--10 Jun--Hill Knowlton Strategies Ford demonstrated its commitment to delivering a world-class customer service experience by hosting the third annual Technical Skills Competition at Ford Bangbuatong TS Auto Sales in Bangkok. The Competition brings Ford's best technicians from each market together to compete for top service awards. "The Skills Competition supports our goal of improving technical competence, customer experience and convenience. It's also a great opportunity for these technicians to interact with the broader Ford Motor Company team, including support staff and dealership personnel who were participating from other markets from around the region.," said Derek Clatworthy, regional customer service director, Ford ASEAN. The competition was divided into two categories – a Technical Skills component that challenged the technicians to utilise Ford diagnostic equipment, technical repair information and Ford Special Service Tools to resolve a technical concern within a given timeframe. The second was a 'Quick Service' element that measured a quick and efficient scheduled service task, complete with a vehicle checklist. In total, sixteen technicians from five countries participated, including Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia and South Korea. The winner for Best Technician was Patawee Pidngam from the Ford Tachaaumporn Samutsongkhram dealership in Thailand, with Albert Minga from Ford Libis, Philippines taking second place. Third place went to Seok-Gyu Koo from Premier Motors, South Korea. The winning 'Quick Service' team was Suriya Anupao and Weerayut Chonlatarn from Anuphas Ford Motorsales (Trang), Thailand, second place went to Ivan Carlo Morales and Mikhail Santos from Ford Global City, Philippines. "Our winning Thai technicians are reflective of our continued focus on personnel development and building on Ford's global service standard of 'Quality Care' to provide an enjoyable after-sales experience to our Ford customers in Thailand," said Wichit Wongwatthanakarn, customer service director, Ford Thailand.
