A Celebration of Dutch Cuisine Kicks Off at Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok

Bangkok--13 Sep--Centara Grand at Central Plaza Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok is set to commence its "Dutch Culinary Promotion", held on the 23rd to 30th of September 2016 at the exclusive rooftop Blue Sky Bar & Dinning. The event, co-created with the Netherlands – Thai Chamber of Commerce (NTCC) and Stenden University, will feature a range of Dutch-inspired dishes dreamed up by Albert Kooy, Stenden's Executive Chef, all of which will appear on the Blue Sky's a la carte dinner menu for a full week. Chef Albert's dishes will include innovations such as salad of apple, beet-root and sticky shiitake in tamarind sauce; crispy sushi with Dutch herring, pickled vegetable and green curry; potato pancake, cauliflower structures, wasabi and langoustine; fried chicories in brown beer, chicken wing and foie gras, with morel sauce; barbecue roasted rib-eye, Dutch red cabbage and potato foam and many more delicious options. In addition to the nightly offerings, Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok will also be hosting two additional events. On Saturday the 24th, an exclusive Dutch culinary cooking demonstration showcasing by Chef Albert Kooy and Roxanne Lange , chef of Savelberg Thailand – Oriental Residence Bangkok at Don Giovanni Italian Restaurant; and on Friday, the 30th, the inaugural "I am orange" party is to be held at the hotel's swimming pool garden. Albert Kooy is the author of ?two? books? and ?developer ?of ?many ?culinary ?concepts?for?various?international restaurants?and?hotels. From a start on board of the HM Van Speijk, Albert returned ?to ?the ?Netherlands, ?where ?he ?worked ?in ?high - end?Michelin - starred? restaurants, then re-located?to Switzerland?and?France?to work at the?Le?Moulin?de?Mougins. He has also studied ?Chinese ?and ?Japanese ?cuisines ?and?developed? his ?own ?signature ?cooking style,? with a focus on "purity" and sustainable ingredients, relying predominantly on vegetables.
