Bangkok--21 Sep--INTERCONTINENTAL HUA HIN RESORT InterContinentalHua Hin Resort is pleased to announce a visit by multi-award-winning French chef Bruno Oger, who will be a guest chef on the occasion of the resort anniversary. The chef is best known as creative inspiration and driving force behind two-Michelin-starred La Villa Archange in Cannes, a venue highly regarded by culinary professionals and a favourite among A-list celebrities. Bruno's passion for cooking began in childhood, and today he is recognised as one of the world's most talented and imaginative chefs, as well as an enthusiastic promoter of French cuisine. Renown came early for the chef, at a mere 23 years of age, when one of France's greatest chefs, Georges Blanc, trusted Bruno with a management position at famed Le Normandie restaurant, Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok. There he led a team of 15 chefs and, by 1993, would become the restaurant's executive chef. The following years saw Bruno collect a number of Michelin stars, the first in 1997; another in 2005 at La Villa des Lys in Cannes; and two more in early 2011, just 10 months after the opening of his La Villa Archange. He likewise has been voted 'Chef of the Year' by Gault et Millau. 'For me,' Bruno says, 'natural things are always my greatest inspiration. I try to pick the right product to use at the right moment, when it's mature and has the perfect texture and taste. It's not the presentation – it's the taste. That's the most important thing. A dish has to have a strong flavour. When you bite into something, you should know exactly what you're eating.' It is precisely this inspired approach to cookery in general and French cuisine in particular that will delight Hua Hin diners during the chef's visit to InterContinental Hua Hin Resort in late October. In addition to the six-course wine pairing dinners, Chef Bruno will also be conducting exclusive cooking classes.
