Bangkok--8 Jun--Anantara Hua Hin Resort
Continuing their commitment to the local community and corporate social responsibility, Anantara Hua Hin Resort recently visited the Venezia Hua Hin to deliver a road safety awareness presentation. Participating students received education on road safety, basic traffic rules and safety tips for motorcycles during an informative session from the Anantara team.
The Helmet Hero took place at The Venezia Hua Hin, welcoming hundreds of local children for the charity event with entertaining activities and to promote awareness and encourage road safety.
This initiative took place as part of the annual Helmet Hero campaign, which is a joint CSR activity organised by 14 of the top hotels and resorts in Hua Hin. Statistic shows that more than 1.3 million children travel by motorcycle in Thailand, but approximately only seven per cent wear helmets. Each year, the death and injury toll tallies around 2,600 deaths and around 72,000 devastating injuries to children from motorcycle accidents. Anantara Hua Hin teamed up with 13 other participating hotels along with local organisations to help raise awareness and gave out helmets to help save their lives.
Manish Jha, General Manager of Anantara Hua Hin, said "It's vital to raise awareness about road safety with children in Thailand – many travel to school by motorcycle and don't wear helmets. We want to raise awareness and help save lives our local community."
Jha added "This combined CSR event is part of Anantara's overall commitment to make a positive impact in the lives of the local community. By joining forces with other local hotels and businesses, we can potentially save the lives of over 1,100 schoolchildren so we're truly honoured to be a part of the Helmet Hero."
