Bangkok--5 Jul--Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok and Estella Wine invite you to a memorable evening of modern Italian cuisine and fine wines at the "Estella Wine Dinner" at Rossini's on Friday July 7. The 5-course dinner will begin with Chef Gaetano Palumbo's delicious welcome canapes to enjoy with Bortolomiol Filanda Rose, Brut Millesimato Reserva DOCG 2014, a blush-pink sparkling wine made with Pinot Nero grapes from the Oltrepò Pavese area in northwest Italy. Seated in the enchanting Tuscan villa setting of Rossini's, diners will enjoy a duo of hamachi tartar and smoked tuna carpaccio with squid ink mayonnaise and mustard ice cream. The beautifully presented dish will be accompanied by Pieropan, Soave Classico DOC 2015.Awarded 90 points by The Wine Advocate, it is described as "a beautiful wine with aromas of white peach and pear and a pretty mineral definition that shows the dedication of one of the leading producers of Soave Classico." The enticing appetizer will be followed by a refreshing chilled cantaloupe soup with Tuscan ham accompanied by the radiant Le Ragnaie Chianti Colli Senesi DOCG 2013 which displays an alluring nose of red cassis and sour cherries and a tight structure. The third dish of the evening will be Chef Gaetano's hand-rolled strozzapreti pasta with wild boar ragout and Pecorino cheese. The pasta dish, which is typical of the Emilia-Romagna region of Tuscany, will be paired with Trinoro Le Cupole Rosso Toscana IGT 2012. Vinous awarded 92 points to this blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and a dash of Petit Verdot, saying it was "simply stunning in this vintage, and the dark, voluptuous finish is truly a thing of beauty." A highlight of the evening will be grilled beef from indigenous Chianina cattle served with potatoes and garden vegetables, and complemented by Podere Sapaio, Volpolo DOC 2014. This 93-point wine was described by renowned wine critic, James Suckling as an "impressive blend with wonderful aromas of blackberries and dark cherries woven together with tobacco, spices and crushed stones." The gourmet dinner at Rossini's will end with chilled peach soup and summer fruits, followed by coffee, tea and sweet treats.
