Bangkok--8 Dec--Enterprise Asia
Businesses must look beyond the fourth industrial revolution to preparing for a world that's fully inter-connected and unlike what we are seeing today. At the International Innovation Summit 2017, experts and innovation leaders were united in encouraging businesses to adopt innovation early, and to inculcate an organizational culture that breeds innovation.
The International Innovation Summit 2017 was organised by Enterprise Asia, a leading association of entrepreneurs in Shanghai to help prepare entrepreneurs and businesses for what it terms the 'fifth industrial revolution', when innovation become ubiquitous and the new source of economic growth originates from individuals rather than large corporations and governments.
Dr. Fong Chan Onn, chairman of Enterprise Asia and a former human resources minister of Malaysia, said, "companies that encourage a culture of innovation within their respective businesses are already reaping the rewards of more rapid growth, better employee engagement and resilience against economic trends. There is little doubt that innovation is today the key game changer for many businesses, and this will continue to be so".
Speakers at the Summit include futurist Anne-Lise Kjaer, innovation experts Martin Daffner of Emerge Innovation and William Bao Bean of Chinaaccelerator, and corporate heads of innovation and strategy including Stephen Fung of DHL, Michael Wolczyk of AXA China, Kapil Kane of Intel, and Jason Lo of Honeywell China. Also present were Congresswoman Gwendolyn Garcia, the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives of the Philippines, Lieutenant General Sudhir Sharma and Dato' William Ng, president of Enterprise Asia.
Over 300 delegates from across the world participated at the two day summit, which was sponsored by the Shimao Group, and was held at the Hyatt on the Bund, Shanghai.

"Many business leaders are genuinely afraid that their businesses would be disrupted, either by technology or by the shifting marketplace. The best insurance against that is to ensure that we remain committed to continous innovation, to invest people, time and money into this crucial cornerstone of business growth. More so than ever, a business' competitiveness rests in its ability to innovate", says William Ng, president of Enterprise Asia.
