Bangkok--21 Dec--futurefactory bkk
This January 13th 2018, the teams behind Bangkok's Blaq Lyte nightclub and Future Factory creative space join forces with the underground rap tribe Rap is Now for the first ever "Bangkok Block Party" to kickstart the new year. Taking over the grounds of A-Square (Sukhumvit Soi 26), the outdoor party stretches between 12pm-12am and combines the city's best players in music, art, food and lifestyle for 12 epic hours of fuss-free partying.
Welcome the new year with quality music as it spills from four huge stages, featuring beats from international headliners including the US-hailing electro-indie duo Cherub, dance/electronic trio Autograf and American electronic beats genius Paper Diamond, to name a few. Rap lovers can head over to the Blaq Lyte x Rap Is Now stage for tunes from big names like Cozy Boys, Thaiboy Digital, Southside, Younggu X Rahboy and many more, while local favourite DJs like Dan Buri, Note P, Eey and Mon.P will take over the decks on the Flow House stage.
Away from the music, get ready to experience pop-up booths from the city's foodie favourites like Shades of Retro's juicy burgers, After You Desert famous Kakigori, Barrio Bonito's unbeatable tacos and Meat & Bones' tender bbq. Wash it down with coffee from a special collaboration between two favourite Instagrammable coffee experts Grind Size and A Stimulant by Sarnies. Art stalls come courtesy of local talents like ceramics & pottery, woodwork installation, live painting, street art gallery, and much more!
If you're into penny boarding, Penny Board will also be around with boards for people to ride around at the event, while those who prefer water sports can enjoy special discount at Flow House throughout the entire event for all attendees! On top of that, there also promises to be booths from local barbers alongside lifestyle brands like Rip Curl, Young & Hungry / Pretty Boy Gears.
Better yet, all the fun is for a good cause. Part of the proceeds of Bangkok Block Party will be donated to the 32 Foundation, a charity organization founded by Blaq Lyte's owner Nick Supreda that helps provide shelter and support to orphans around Thailand and Help Thai founded by Timothy Prompun Henderson and Ub-ib Piyavipa Indradat (Shareholder of Blaq Lyte and Future Factory) helping underprivileged children in Buriram receive an education to better themselves and their family. Be good and also stop by the Youth Barbershop stall at the event, where you can get a fresh haircut on the spot to contribute to all profits similarly going to the charity organizations. 32
As the name suggests, Bangkok Block Party is determined to step away from the exclusivity and pretentiousness around many of Bangkok's parties and music festivals. Instead, think of a block party where all your family members, friends and neighbours are invited - where the door is open to everyone and anyone. Bangkok Block Party gives a name to the local underdogs and celebrates the success of up-and-coming local names in a "one-big-family" atmosphere where everyone can come together for one great party.
Tickets are available now via Eventpop.me for 900 THB while tickets on the door are priced at 1500 THB. Mark your calendars for January 13th and let's start 2018 off in the best way possible!
