Bangkok--22 Dec-- BangkokEdge Festival is back and will take place on 20 – 21 January 2018 at Museum Siam, Chakrabongse Villas and Rajini School from 1pm to midnight. BangkokEdge is Bangkok's first ideas festival, which debuted on February 2016 and received great feedback from more than 20,000 festival-goers both Thais and foreigners. BangkokEdge 2018 returns to offer festival-goers a combination of educational and entertaining activities, the key approach since its first year. Narisa Chakrabongse (BangkokEdge Festival Director) explains BangkokEdge's concept through its slogan - "Explore, Create, Inspire". "I hope that everyone will come away having explored different ideas, created something new, or having been inspired to make changes in their life. Above all, however, I want people to have a good time." This year, the festival organizer also aims to help festival-goers reduce waste production by trying to reuse and recycle within the festival. As recently seen in the media, plastic pollution is a major problem for our planet and Thailand is in the top 6 producers of plastic waste. Festival-goers are encouraged to bring their own food containers and utensils. Participating stalls at BangkokEdge 2018 must commit to using environmentally friendly and biodegradable packaging. There are more than 50 activities over the weekend in which festival-goers can take part free of charge. These range from talks, workshops, exhibition, book launches, children's activities, film screenings and concerts. Talks and workshops will be led by both local and international speakers, such as Afonso Cruz, Chris Baker, Christina Lamb, Colin Cotterill, Julian Thomson, Lawrence Osborne, Madeleine Racknagel, Marina Mahathir, Michael Freeman, Lorina Mapa, Veeraporn Nitiprapha and etc. At night, there will be concerts curated by Hugo Chrakabongse with a line-up of local talents rarely found in one place such as Chanudom, Hugo, Rasmee Isan Soul, Siplor, Yellow Fang and Yena. BangkokEdge also provides an opportunity for visitors holding a chill pass to book a glimpse inside Chakrabongse House, the private residence of Mom Rajawongse Narisa Chakrabongse, the Italian style villa built by her grandfather, Prince Chakrabongse in 1908. There will be 4 tours per day (1 in English and three in Thai) with limited capacity for those who hold the Chill Pass, a pass that provides exclusive entrance to Chakrabongse Villas throughout the BangkokEdge weekend. There's lots more on the BangkokEdge program for the weekend of 20 –21 January 2018. For more information please visitwww.bangkokedge.com or www.facebook.com/bangkokedge or call 02-622-1617.
