“CAS Innovation Cooperation Center (Bangkok)” Is Now Open To Promote Scientific and Technological Cooperation between Thailand and China

Bangkok--25 Dec--Triple P Connection CAS Innovation Cooperation Center (Bangkok) was open as Thailand's first innovation center that promotes the exchange of scientific and technological information in Southeast Asia. The Center has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with several organizations to tangibly and sustainably drives the multi-lateral collaboration on science and technology. On this occasion, Dr.Suvit Maesincee, Minister of Science and Technology, presided over the opening ceremony in Makkawan Rangsan Room, 3rd floor of Thai Army Club. Also joining the event were H.E.Jian LYU, Chinese ambassador in Kingdom of Thailand, The Embassy of the People's Republic of China, Mr.Jie ZHANG, Vice Dean of CAS, and ACM Charlie Chandruang, Chairman of committee on Science, technology, information and mass communication, The National Legislative Assembly, Thailand, including the management of government agencies, universities, research institutes, and companies. Dr.Suvit Maesincee, Minister of Science and Technology, revealed the objective to establish this center. The Ministry foresaw that this collaboration would be helpful as a cooperative mechanism, which encourages the private sector to study, exchange, and develop the knowledge and expertise with China. The Ministry is committed to the strong cooperation to ensure the advanced knowledge, improved well-being, and economic restructuring to support logistics and help the country to realize Thailand 4.0 strategy in the future. Dr.Zhang Jie, Vice President of Chinese Academy of Science (CSA),32said that Thailand plays a significant role in Southeast Asia as an innovation center in ASEAN. CSA has signed MOU with many science institutes in Thailand, namely research institutes, universities, and foundations, to strengthen the cooperation. CAS Innovation Cooperation Center (Bangkok) was established as the center to present and exchange information to promote year 2018 as the Year of Innovation between China and ASEAN. CAS Innovation Cooperation Center (Bangkok) is the first overseas institution that gathers local and international resources of innovative science. The Chinese Academy of Sciences selects Thailand as the first strategic location because it is the center of ASEAN innovation. It aims to promote science, innovation, and technology. It will closely coordinate with the companies in the network and ASEAN countries to become the hub of international scientific collaboration in the future.
