CentralPlaza Ladprao and the Cat Fanciers' Club of Thailand (CFCT) are holding the CFA International Asia Cat Show 2018 from 16th-18th March 2018 at BCC Hall, 5th floor, CentralPlaza Ladprao. The event aims to promote and encourage the development of cats raising and initiate the opportunity for international competition in addition to supporting tourism in Thailand. The entrance is free of charge for general audience. Thailand has been chosen by the members of Cat Fanciers' Association (CFA) to host a cat contest for the first time in Asia.

The two categories of the competition can be divided into 4 sections:

3. Purebred neutered cats
4. Mixed-breed cats or purebreds with flaws

- Total value of all cats participating is over 100 million baht
- Health checks and free rabies vaccinations for cats provided by veterinarians from the I-Vet Hospital
- Variety of choices of pet food and innovative items ideal for pet lovers. Cat owners service providers such as the Kofuku Cat Hotel, a professional certified cat hotel, will offer special promotions exclusively at the event.
Mr. Napon Pansuvan, owner of Siam Aqua Farm, whose cats have entered international contests and won many awards around the world, said that this event would gather a large number of purebred pedigree cats. He said that people who wanted to keep a cat should ask themselves why they wanted a cat – whether for petting only or also to enter contests. Anyone interested in sending their cats into contests should learn about the competition host/organization and know about the breeders that they get their cats from. They need to learn all about the breeds of cat they want, must love cats and be willing to sacrifice time on them. He invites everyone to attend this cat contest as it is a chance to watch an international contest up-close, to meet real award-chasing cats from around the world and to learn about the judging criteria. He is certain that people will get a lot of knowledge about cats and cat contests at the event.
Sunan Sowprasertsuk, President of the CFCT said: "This is a very big event. The host has been selected based on experience and venue facilities. I am proud that this year, Thailand has been selected to host this international cat contest." In addition, Sunan gave a few tips on how to prepare to view the cat contest and guidelines when bringing cats along to the event. The areas provided for cat contestants and their owners are prohibited for the audience. At each competition zone, each cat will be placed on the platform for the judges to examine. The audience sits only in the places provided for them and must not use flash photography. The audience needs to be quiet while the judges are considering or judging the cats. Cat owners that bring their cats along should prepare a basket/box or trolley for their pets.
