W Hotels Worldwide, the luxe rebel of Marriott International, continues its FUTURE RISING Asia Pacific series at W Bangkok on 9 June 2018, a platform in partnership with Mixcloud that identifies, cultivates and celebrates emerging artists and creatives the world over. Aligned with the W brand's mission of engaging new and next music talent across the globe – and bringing these exciting sounds to W guests – the Asia Pacific debut of FUTURE RISING is an extension of the brand's ongoing partnership with Mixcloud, the online music-streaming platform that connects listeners to the world's largest community of music curators.
In 2016, W Hotels Worldwide and Mixcloud came together to launch FUTURE RISING in Europe and the Middle East, a platform that identifies, cultivates and celebrates emerging artists and creatives the world over. In its second volume, FUTURE RISING is now coming to Asia Pacific. Themed 'WONDERLAND', FUTURE RISING invites the most exciting names in music and culture across Asia to create events comprising of music, art and talks that explore the local creative scene – envisioning the various artists' utopian vision of the world's ideal tomorrow. A calendar of events has been created to inspire the local creative community and will feature in Goa, Bangkok, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
For the Bangkok edition of FUTURE RISING – W Bangkok and Mixcloud have partnered with culture collective and club promoter Blaq Lyte who will put a spotlight on Bangkok's Future Rising artists, musicians and DJs in this not-to-be-missed event.
With 'WONDERLAND' as the theme, FUTURE RISING Bangkok will invite the most exciting names in music and culture in Bangkok to create one special night of music, art and talks to explore the local creative scene and explore how they are creating 'the future they want to live in tomorrow'.
The programme for the event will begin with a panel discussion with some of Bangkok's most influential icons, following that is a live production workshop by rappers Maiyarap, Ben Bizzy and Younggu where they will record and produce a track live in front of the audience. Another part of the evening's highlight will feature live art installation by Rook Floro, a shining light in the local art scene who's making waves for his avant-garde creative sculptures. To cap off the night, Blaq Lyte curated local DJs Wanton Witch, Eey and Memento will take over the decks and put on a party that will feature some of Bangkok's most exciting new music.
To create a unique experience for guests who share the same passion for Music as the brand through the lens of W Bangkok, W Bangkok's Music Curator- DJ Orawan, has carefully curated the event in partnership with Mixcloud's in-house team of music experts. All performances and discussions will be recorded and exclusively available on the W Hotels Mixcloud Channel.
