Now celebrated around the world, Oktoberfest had its beginnings in Bavaria over two hundred years ago to celebrate the royal wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig on 12th October 1810. All of the citizens of Munich were invited to attend in a large field named after the royal bride, the Theresienwiese, christening a day of joy and celebration that has been repeated every year since then.

Bratwurst und Sauerkraut
