Approximately 2,300 charity runners took to the Laem Chabang Industrial Estate in the first Mitsubishi Motors Mini Marathon on September 30, 2018.
The Mitsubishi Motors Mini Marathon was held under theme 'Run for Friends' hosted by Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co.,Ltd. in collaboration with Mitsubishi Motors Workers Union of Thailand, and MMTh Running Club to raise fund contributing to the new construction of Queen Savang Vadhana Memorial Hospital's medical center at Sriracha. The event was also held to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of the Queen Grandmother Her Majesty Queen Sri Savarindira.
The race had two categories, a 10 kilometers mini marathon and also a 5 kilometers fun run, both competitive races was held and categorized separately by age group ranges.
THB 370,000 has been raised for charity by participants, Mr. Morikazu Chokki, President and CEO at Mitsubishi Motors Thailand (3rd from right) who represented the mini marathon runners handed over the donation to Dr. Somkiat Bowornsereepathai M.D., Deputy Director of Queen Savang Vadhana Memorial Hospital (2nd from Right).
"Back in 1992, we became a member of Sriracha community by opening our first plant here. Since then, the family-like bond among Mitsubishi Motors Thailand and the Sriracha community has developed through several collaborations and efforts to strengthen this neighborhood. Today's mini marathon program is another form of the helping hand we extend to contribute to the healthier Sriracha" Mr. Chokki addressed.
