Today Mastercard announced the appointment of Ms. Aileen Chew as Head of Market Development, Thailand and Myanmar. In her new role, Ms. Chew will be responsible for the expansion of cashless payments in Thailand and Myanmar, overseeing engagement with regulators and major stakeholders, as well as strategic partnerships with merchants and solution providers.
Based in Bangkok, Ms. Chew enters the new role with over a decade of experience in product and go-to-market strategy. After joining Mastercard in 2016, Ms. Chew spearheaded the development and adoption of regional QR based payment solutions and standards, with a focus on market development and industry engagement. She has been a leading voice on contactless payments in the Asia Pacific region for the past several years.
Ms. Chew's appointment demonstrates Mastercard's commitment to developing the Thai contactless market. With her extensive experience in digital payment development and implementation and stakeholder engagement, Ms. Chew will also contribute thought leadership to support Thailand's quickly-developing cashless agenda, offering insights into industry best practices and showcasing best-in-class products and services. Her experience will be highly valuable in supporting the Thai Government's visions for 'Thailand 4.0' and the 'National e-Payments Master Plan'.

Ms. Chew holds a Bachelors in Accountancy from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
