Mrs Akkaya Jitpakdee, Vice President of Central Food Retail Company Limited, said that the company has introduced Tops Daily Singha Complex, which spans across 400 sq m on G floor of Singha Complex. This is the flagship store of Tops Daily which utlizes modern technology to facilitate customers who are mainly office workers, university students, and digital savvy people who embrace the concept of cashless society.
"Tops Daily is the first retailer in Thailand to fully utilize technology to facilitate the cashless society concept through Tops Box, an application which is now available on App Store and Play Store. There are three easy steps: 1. Download and log in with the same username and password as your The 1 Card account, 2. Use the app and scan the QR code in front of the store to start shopping, and scan Electronic Shelf Labels at the shelf to purchase items, and 3. Pay conveniently through your credit card linked to the app. This is the first time for mini supermarket in Thailand to use Electronic Shelf Labels in order to reduce paper waste and facilitate staff to ensure accuracy. Our Scan Wall makes it easier for our customers to order bulk items or special items not available at the store. They can scan the QR code at the Scan Wall to order the items. Additionally, the store also offers Self Check Out counters where customers can scan the items and make payment with cash or card. Meanwhile, all in-store media is on LED screens."
Mrs Akkaya added that Tops Daily Singha Complex is the blueprint of how innovations can suit changing consumer behavior. Today, online shopping is something consumers are familiar with, especially among office workers and digital-savvy university students. Many consumers no longer carry cash with them and prefer to make payments on their mobile phone. Tops Daily offers a new shopping experience to customers, and the same model will be expanded to new relevant stores in the future. At present, Tops Daily has 71 stores nationwide.
