Bangkok--1 Nov--AIS AIS announced 9M18 result with total revenue of Bt125,271mn, increasing 7.5% YoY due to an increase in 4G penetration, higher AIS Fibre subscribers, and the consolidation of CSL which serves enterprise customers. This has resulted in AIS having a net profit of Bt22,843mn, increasing 2.1% YoY. The company aims to continue enhancing its network and brand after acquiring the 1800MHz spectrum license and being able to provide the most efficient 4G service. Mr. Somchai Lertsutthiwong, Chief Executive Officer of Advance Info Service Public Company Limited or AIS said "For 9M18 results, AIS's total revenue continued to grow 7.5% YoY. Mobile revenue grew 1.4% YoY after the market growth has softened due to pricing competition, particularly in the fixed-speed unlimited plans. In this quarter, net addition increased 552,300 subscribers with volume of data usage rising to 10 GB/month. 4G penetration also expanded to 57% of total customers. Moreover, AIS has partnered with Jaymart to expand distribution channels which will enhance AIS's competitiveness in the future. Customer perception continued strengthened through marketing campaigns and our ability as a sole operator to provide 4G service on 1800MHz spectrum license with 40MHz bandwidth (Super Block). This has resulted in our 4G customers enabled to experience 15-30% faster speed of 4G. For fixed broadband business, 9M18 revenue from AIS Fibre increased 48% YoY following increasing subscribers, now totaling 676,700. AIS Fibre covers 50 cities across the country and aims to become one of the main players in next 2-3 years by focusing on acquiring valued customers with its distinct fibre optial technology and an integration of various services bundling fixed broadband, mobile service, and digital content. Furthermore, AIS continues to lay strong foundation to grow in digital service business where we focus on collaborating with potential partners in order to serve both consumer and enterprise customers. Recently, AIS together with Singtel and Kasikorn Bank, released a new cross-border e-wallet under the name VIA, allowing Thais and Singaporeans to make payments with QR code through the e-wallet on AIS Global Pay application, available at more than 1.6 million shops in the two countries. This provides and ensures a higher level of secured payment and convenience to the users. "Preservation of financial strength and continuous organization development is the key to confront the challenges of Digital Transformation. AIS continues to be a company that generated a net profit of Bt22,843mn in the past nine months or Bt6,800mn in this quarter, enabling AIS to promptly invest for the future. We intend to develop digital services relevant to business dynamics while digitizing our organization in order to uplift our staff capability as well as to support all the Thais. Having AIS Academy and Academy for Thais as our key propellers, AIS is ready to be the center of collaborations which engage in organization development and knowledge sharing, so that we all can grow sustainably together." said Mr. Somchai.
