Bangkok--8 Nov--Siam Commercial Bank
To enhance the competence of small- and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) and bring growth to the grass-roots economy, Siam Commercial Bank and the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP) recently signed a cooperative agreement to promote privileges for SMEs during 2018-2021. Under the agreement, both organizations will apply all their strengths in providing comprehensive assistance and support to over 200,000 OSMEP-networked SMEs and SCB SME clients in a more efficient manner. In addition, they are ready to propel SMEs with growth potential to mobilize funds in the Market for Alternative Investment (MAI) to ensure they have an alternative channel for obtaining capital to accommodate long-term business growth. They target listing 30 OSMEP-networked SMEs on MAI by 2019 and plan to introduce special courses to broaden perspectives on various forms of SME fund raising. Seen announcing the cooperation are OSMEP Director-General Mr. Suwanchai Lohawatanakul, SCB Senior Executive Vice President and Head of the SME Segment Function Mrs. Pikun Srimahunt, and SCB Executive Vice President, Primary Distribution Division, Ms. Veena Lertnimitr.
