Bangkok--8 Nov--Francom Asia
Mr. Sermsakool Klaikaew, Governor of the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA), and Mr. Hu Gang, Head of Sales, Huawei Enterprise Business Group, Southeast Asia, officially launched today the Smart Meeting Room. This follows the official opening last July of the PEA Innovation Center, the first of its kind in the country.
Strategically located in the premises of PEA's LED Building on Ngamwongwan Road in Bangkok, this state-of-the-art Smart Meeting Room will enable PEA's management to communicate in an easy and high-tech way with correspondents around the globe, using video conferencing and webinars rather than face-to-face meetings, thus reducing its operational expenses.
"With the ability to reach all parties anytime and anywhere in the world, even in remote areas, this easy-to-use smart communication system, which works with the internet, will make us more efficient and more flexible and enable us to make decisions faster," explained Mr. Sermsakool Klaikaew, Governor of the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA). "This is an additional step towards our company's digital transformation, in line with Thailand 4.0, and our objective to become 'The Electric Utility of the Future'", he added.
The Smart Meeting Room is equipped with Huawei VPT300 Intelligent Tracking Camera that offers the latest video technologies, such as voice detection and face recognition, plus new features like speaker auto-tracking, adaptive panoramic image capture and person-to-person conversation mode (P2P). For instance, the VPT300 system automatically detects the person speaking and displays a close-up image without manual intervention. If participant A talks with participant B, the P2P system automatically shows both participants face-to-face. The system can connect up to 200 locations simultaneously to join the same meeting. In addition, the plug and play AirPresence Key enables all participants in the meeting room to wirelessly share content from their PCs with just one simple click, with no messy cables and additional plugs.
"The principle of this Smart Meeting Room is to make the technology almost invisible and easy to operate, so the users can really focus on the quality contents of their video conference meetings," declared Mr. Hu Gang, Head of Sales, Huawei Enterprise Business Group, Southeast Asia.
The Smart Meeting Room is the result of a long-standing cooperation between PEA and Huawei Thailand. The objective is for PEA to use and benefit from Huawei's latest ICT technologies.
