PTT reveals "iPMMS" innovation for the maintenance of gas transmission pipeline, ensuring energy security and safety for Thai people.
Mr. Chansin Treenuchagron, President & Chief Executive Officer, PTT Public Company Limited, announced that the company's Integrated Pipeline Maintenance and Monitoring System (iPMMS) wins "Best Innovative Company Awards" in SET Awards 2018, organized under the collaboration of the Stock Exchange of Thailand and Money and Banking Magazine. iPMMS is an online Cathodic Protection, which helps monitor damage on gas transmission pipeline. This innovative iPMMS helps ensure safety of pipeline and its surrounding communities, while reducing inspection and maintenance cost around 7.5 Million Baht per year.
"This award is considered encouragement for the company employees in applying digital technology to improve effectiveness and efficiency in their work, build innovation, and create better cooperation among companies. iPMMs is currently applying for the second gas transmission pipeline project, covering Bangkok, Pathum Thani, Ayutthaya, Saraburi, Lopburi, Prachinburi, as well as remote areas. We plan to apply iPMMs along all gas transmission pipeline", Chansin said.
iPMMs is considered the cooperation between PTT, Gas Transmission Pipeline Department and Innovation Institute, and Advance Info Service Plc. (AIS), developing Narrow Band Internet of Things (NB-IoT) for specific gas transmission pipeline maintenance.
