Wijit Apitchartkriangkrai, celebrated Thai artist well-known for his work in etching and sculptures, is giving an installation art exhibition at the BACC, 26 March – 7 April, 2019.
After two-decades of total dedication to Public Arts and recently completed his PhD in Visual Art at Silpakorn University, Wijit has discovered through his research, an interesting aspect and perhaps a solution in life through art. Hence, the subject of this up-coming exhibition, "Khon Rak Na Ma/Ha/Nakorn" (Lovers of Rice Farming Come Calling) – Aesthetic Eco Phenomenal, a Prelude.
An installation art that comes knocking at city folks' doorstep about finding happiness.
Lovers of Rice Farming Come Calling is a story of sharing the charm of simple living, of innocence, of calm relaxing lifestyle along the norm of ethnic Thai rice culture.
An exhibition with dynamic element of participation, relativity and relationship, a phenomenon that Wijit named Ecological Aesthetic in Thai Rice Culture.
Wijit capitalized his knowledge, experience and understanding in the art to synthesize the process of rice culture community living – rice farming, and turned it into a beautiful and practical landscaping art form, a circular rice field. A rice field where farmers and visitors alike discover the joy of rice farming and tilling from the heart.
Noticing the magical path, Wijit and a couple of friends under the name Aesthetic Eco Rice Barn Group has created this exhibition.

Ecological Aesthetic is a phenomenon that one can only understand when experienced. Then and only then, one would realize that there really is such a thing. It is not out of reach. You can make it happen and we can all be a part of the beautiful phenomenon even in the big city.
