On the auspicious occasion of Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana's Birthday, Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) is offering grey sedge (krajood) travel kits to Royal Silk Class passengers traveling with THAI on outbound international flights on 3 June 2019 that have a flight duration of over four hours, except for flights to Australia and New Zealand. The woven sedge travel kits are local OTOP (One Tambon One Product) products by the sedge weaving group in Ban Map Lao Cha On,Chak Phong sub-district, Klang district, Rayong province.
Sedge mat weaving is a traditional handicraft from the Ban Map Lao Cha On village, which has an abundance of sedge in the Sam Nak Yai marsh. Sedge is also used for binding things, weaving sacks, and making royal tributes since Ayutthaya period.
