B.Grimm Power Plc (BGRIM) has won a coveted award for its outstanding practices in sustainable environment, social and corporate governance.
This is the second consecutive year that the country's leading private producer was awarded with the ESG 100 certificate from Thaipat Institute, the pioneer in the development of Thailand's corporate sustainability database.
."It's a great honour to win the ESG 100 back-to-back after the first win in 2018, merely one year after BGRIM's debut in the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET)," said BGRIM CEO Preeyanart Soontornwata.
The award is a further testimony of BGRIM's commitment towards professional operations which observe good corporate governance, being responsible to the economy, society, environment, while creating value for all stakeholders as the firm pursues stable and sustainable growth, she added.
BGRIM was chosen by Thaipat as one of the top 100 listed companies with outstanding environmental, social and governance practices in the Resource Group for the annual ESG 100 award which was first introduced in 2015.
BGRIM was assessed from the sustainability data compiled by 771 securities listed in the Thai bourse.
Thaipat Institute said this year's ESG 100 assessment includes operating results of companies in tandem with the environmental, social and governance performance by using a rating model developed from the guidelines contained in the Global Initiative for Sustainability Ratings (GIS).
Such assessment refers to reports published by companies in the annual information form (Form56-1), annual reports, sustainability reports, and performance data related to sustainability development of the issuing agency and fund from six sources, totaling 14,278 data points.
Ranking of listed companies in sustainability development can be regarded as a source of sustainability information of listed companies that support the needs of investors who weigh their investment in companies that are socially and environmentally responsible, proving an alternative for investors who want to invest in quality listed securities and receive returns that are not inferior to conventional investments.
