The press conference on ASEAN Business and Investment Summit 2019 (ABIS 2019) and ASEAN Business Awards 2019 (ABA 2019) will take place on 31 July 2019 at 10.00 hrs. at Auditorium (10th floor), C-asean Center, CW Tower Buildings, Ratchadapisek Road, Bangkok.
The ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC), in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, Ministry of Commerce of Thailand, and the Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry, and Banking (JSCCIB) which comprises the Board of Trade of Thailand, the Federation of Thai Industries, and the Thai Bankers' Association, will organize the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit 2019 and ASEAN Business Awards 2019 on 2 -3 November 2019 at IMPACT Exhibition Center, Muang Thong Thani.
The ABIS 2019 serves as a platform for the business community to engage with the Leaders from ASEAN and beyond, business leaders, high-profile entrepreneurs, and key decision-makers who are shaping and influencing ASEAN economies. It also provides as ideal platform to identify, discuss, and present the proposal solutions to the pressing issues that affect the region's economic activities, investment attractiveness, and business potentials. At the same time, the event will be touching on the key global issues and exploring the challenges faced by businesses in the world today.
Chairman of ASEAN-BAC (Mr. Arin Jira) said that "The ABIS 2019 is ASEAN's premier annual business and investment event organized by ASEAN-BAC of the country which takes over the Chair of ASEAN. This event is held in conjunction with the ASEAN Summit every year in the host country. This year the event will be held under the theme of "Empowering ASEAN 4.0". The main focus of the theme includes (a) digital infrastructure, (b) digital connectivity, (c) ASEAN Human Empowerment and Development, and (d) MSME. The key topics of the event are (i) Advancing ASEAN 4.0 in the Global Value Chain, (ii) Sustainable ASEAN 4.0: Circular Economy, (iii) Next Generation MSME Access to Finance, (iv) ASEAN Digital Transformation and Connectivity, (v) ASEAN Human Empowerment and Development, and (vi) ASEAN Mentorship for Entrepreneurs Network for MSMEs.
Mr. Arin also added that Heads of States or Governments across and beyond ASEAN countries are invited to attend the event and deliver the keynote addresses during the two-day event. The key leaders who are invited to ABIS 2019 came from within ASEAN and beyond ASEAN. The key business leaders and high-level officials of international organizations are also invited to participate in the panel discussions. It is expected that over 800 participants will attend the event this year.
