PwC Thailand’s charity run raises over THB5.3mn for Chulalongkorn hospital to help eye patients

Bangkok--24 Sep--PwC Thailand PwC Thailand on Sunday raised more than THB5.3 million (about USD175,000) from its "Restore Vision, Run for Sight" Charity Run to support the purchase of a posterior vitrectomy machine for the Vitreo-Retina Research Unit at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, the Thai Red Cross Society. The race was also an occasion to celebrate the Thailand firm's 60th anniversary of doing business in Thailand. During an event on 22 September, Sira Intarakumthornchai, CEO of PwC Thailand (2nd from the right) and Boonlert Kamolchanokkul, Partner, Financial Services, Clients and Markets Leader of PwC Thailand (1st from the right) presented a cheque for THB5,311,000 raised from ticket purchases and PwC Thailand donations to representatives from King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, the Thai Red Cross Society. They included Prof. Ruenreong Leelanukrom, M.D., Deputy Hospital Director (3rd from the left), Assistant Professor Vilavun Puangsricharern, Head of Department of Ophthalmology (2nd from the left) and Dr. Kittisak Kulvichit, Head of the Vitreo-Retina Research Unit, Department of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University (1st from the left). All of the proceeds will go to support the purchase of a posterior vitrectomy machine, which will help support eye patients with retinal detachment and other related problems to receive timely treatments and progress toward recovering their vision.
