Thaveepol Charoenkittikhunpaisal, Managing Director of WorldLease Company Limited, revealed that WorldLease enjoyed a very favorable growth this year, with actual new loan booking so far exceeding the target every month. Given the target set at 25% in 2019, WorldLease has now achieved the 25-30% growth of its new motorcycle hire purchase
loans since the first eight months, 10% ahead of the target. Such growth was nearly 20% higher than the market whose loan expansion declined by roughly 4%.
"We set a goal that WorldLease must grow, regardless of the market condition. So we have planned strategies to penetrate both old and new customer bases, aiming to increase the wallet share of existing customers and increase our market share in new markets and areas having never been entered into. Through the synergy with CIMB Thai Bank network, we are celebrating the first-ever year of target-exceeding performance amidst sluggish market. We want to encourage small entrepreneurs that if you position well and move ahead relentlessly, you will win a chance to grow," said Thaveepol.

The 'Dust-Free Loan Project', recently launched in February 2019, is a concrete proof of the Company's success in terms of partnership. When a Thai start-up and manufacturer initiated an idea of promoting clean energy with electric vehicle (EV), they thought of WorldLease. And it is the initial step before further collaboration in the Dust-Free Loan Project. Despite not so wide use of EV today, we believe that with the collaborative attempts of involved parties, electric motorcycle's price will go cheaper and gain more popularity in the next five years that will help increase a clean energy for better quality of life and environment sustainability.
Moreover, WorldLease is the first and only provider of two-wheeler hire purchase loans who offers a self-service of loan application through "SAMM" (Self-Apply Machine for Motorcycle Loan), a technology that enables customers to apply for motorcycle hire purchase loans by themselves at the dealers and shops. It is convenient for the customers as they can apply for loan by themselves via video call without waiting for staff and learn of the credit approval result just within 30 minutes if all required documents are submitted. At the same time, it benefits the dealers and shops, especially those in remote areas with no availability of staff or restricted provision of hire purchase loan service.
SAMM model was first released in 2010. After that, it has been developed gradually until it becomes SAMM Version 4 now with smaller size and more modern design. Currently, there are more than 400 SAMMs available for service, and more ready to come to accommodate increasing business transactions.
In addition, the Company has also developed a mobile application named "SOM", short for WL e-Statement on Mobile, which enables customers to view their installment payment data or pay bills through a barcode shown in the app at Counter Service, bank counters, post offices, Tesco Lotus branches, and WorldLease counters.
