Index Creative Village Public Company Limited, in partnership with Singha Park Chiang Rai, hosted a press conference to announce 2020's mega project: "VILLAGE OF ILLUMINATION" which will be Asia's largest light festival. The festival will debut Episode 1: FALLING FROM THE SKY, featuring a perfect combination of digital multimedia, art, music and technology – a noteworthy trendsetter of the Thailand 4.0 era. The event aims to attract modern Thai and international tourists while boosting lifestyle tourism in the Northern region. Interested visitors can get a glimpse at what the show will offer before anyone else, at the preshow scheduled for 12-16 February 2020 at Singha Park Chiang Rai, while the full-scale light festival will take place in the bustling tourist season between December 4, 2020 and January 31, 2021. Both creators are confident that this unique event will help drive the tourism industry in Chiang Rai and attract more than 300,000 tourists to the province throughout the 59-day show period. An estimate of over 600 million baht cash flow will be generated from tourism income during this event.
Mr. Kriangkrai Kanjanapokin, Founder and Group Chief Executive Officer of Index Creative Village Public Company Limited, and the Creative Director of "VILLAGE OF ILLUMINATION" light festival, revealed about the project: "After achieving our milestone by creating a talk-of-the-town project: 'Wat Rong Khun Light Fest' at the end of last year, we felt extremely proud to be part of Thailand representatives to show off our creative potential through the greatest light and sound show ever held in Chiang Rai Province. We highlighted the magical charms of the architectural Buddhist art of Wat Rong Khun, or the so-called 'White Temple', ranked one of the 10 most beautiful temples in the world, for visitors to experience the sensational rays of colorful lights illuminating the temple's structure, back-dropped by Chiang Rai's night sky. During the one-month show period, the festival attracted over 25,000 domestic and international tourists, boosting local tourism for the region, as well as showing the world about the greatness of the glorified Thai art. Such project and success have fueled our passion and motivation to do more. At this occasion, Index Creative Village has partnered up with Singha Park Chiang Rai to create a first-of-its-kind mega project of the year. Furthermore, during the Valentine's season, we had debut the opening of 'VILLAGE OF ILLUMINATION' pre-show for the audience to get the first glimpse of the festival before anyone else. The preshow of the "VILLAGE OF ILLUMINATION" will feature three performance rooms. Firstly, visitors can divulge in the romantic atmosphere of the Valentine's festival at the 'ENDLESS AFFECTION ROOM', where you will experience the 360-degree 'Love Projection Mapping' light performance. At the second stop, the 'RAY OF LIGHTS LOVE ILLUSIONAL ROOM', visitors will be in awe by the holographic performance projecting light and shadow images in the way that you've never experienced before. And thirdly, the 'INDULGE IN ROOM' will take you to a new height of sensational enjoyment. You can spice up your love through the 'Singha Sculpture' in the manner of 'Endless Enjoyment'. Considered Asia's largest light festival event, the full-scale "VILLAGE OF ILLUMINATION" will be debut for the first time in Thailand between December 4, 2020 and January 31, 2021 highlighting its Episode 1: FALLING FROM THE SKY.
