Charoen Pokphand Foods PCL (CPF) has strongly encouraged communities surrounding its manufacturing plants and farms to achieve safety society through “CPF’s Food from the Heart Against COVID-19” as part of the company’s social responsibility practices to come out of the virus outbreak.
All CPF’s
manufacturing plants and farms nationwide altogether have stepped forward on
the same direction by taking care of community and people around those
operations. Important activities have been implemented including providing
food, drinking water, alcohol gel, surgical mask, and necessity tools to
support local officials and village health volunteers. This is drawn to support
smooth operation and health protection to stop wider spreading of the COVID-19
CPF’s operations have
continuously helped support communities, for instance Trat shrimp hatchery farm
in collaboration with Khlong Yai Subdistrict Administration Office and the Subdistrict
Health Promotion Hospital set up a training course to provide knowledge on
COVID-19 and teach them to produce face mask. Hat Yai Feed Mill also held a
similar training course for its employees, business partners and contractors.
Lamphun Feed Mill
together with its business partner Chanomporn Farm in Nakhon Pathom jointly
donated 5,000 eggs to Yannawa Temple for supporting the temple’s almshouse to
cook food menus for people.
Ratchaburi Feed Mill
provided infrared thermometers, fabric masks, sanitizers, and rice to village
health volunteers to support health screenings in Donkrabueang Subdistrict
where more than 4,000 people are living.
Moreover, many
operations such as Nakhon Ratchasima’s chicken processing plant and farms, Nong
Khae Feed Mill and Khon Kaen Feed Mill, Had Yai Livestock Feed Mill, have
provided food, drinking water, fresh eggs and essential goods to frontline
officers, volunteers and people in need.
Latest, the company
has joined hands with 1stArmy Region and Klongtoei District Office
to prepare cooked food menus and drinking water to low-income people at
Klongtoei community. Some 8,299 households covering 41,280
people had quality dishes for dinner. The company is also considering to expand
this idea to other communities in Bangkok.
Since March 1, 2020,
the company has initiated "CPF's Food from the Heart Against
COVID-19" project focused on providing food supplies to doctor, nurse and
medical staff who hardly worked in the state hospitals nationwide. So far, the
project has delivered healthy foods to 105 state hospitals and 20,000
self-quarantine people. The project in the 2ndphase has expanded to
those medical staff’s families with a total registered number of 18,000
households.
