Great Wall Motor (GWM) top managements from China, led by President Henry Meng and Vice President Sam Liu, together with Elliot Zhang, President of Great Wall Motor ASEAN and Thailand and the teams, joined the conference call and met with Supattanapong Punmeechaow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Ministry, and Duangjai Asawachintachit, Secretary General of Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), to discuss on strategies and co-operations in driving Thailand to be the center of Electric Vehicle development and supporting the growth of the industry in the future.
In the past 6 months, Great Wall Motor has continued to invest and grow its business in Thailand under the Globalization strategy. The company aims to set Thailand as a hub for right-hand driving vehicle productions and exporting in ASEAN region, especially for the new energy and electric vehicles. GWM also plans to set up its R&D center in Thailand to conduct in-depth research and leverage state-of-the-art innovations and technologies to uplift the automotive industry and provide full supports in enhancing skills, training and employments for Thai forces to be ready to work to their fullest potentials in the Electric Vehicle ecosystem.
