Great Wall Motor (GWM) secured No. 1 spot in Thailand's compact SUV segment with monthly sales and delivery of All New HAVAL H6 SUV amounting to 408 units in August, giving it a market share of 34.3%. The company is ready to continue bringing new experiences of intelligent driving and full after-sales service to Thai consumers. At the same time, GWM continued to enjoy sales growth globally with solid performance both in August and year-to-date sales.
The All New HAVAL H6 Hybrid SUV made a sensation in Thailand's automobile scene by rising to top three on Thailand's ranking of the best-selling compact SUVs in July, which was just the first month of its delivery after the official launch and price announcement in late June. Despite ongoing outbreak of COVID-19 and its harsh impacts on people's lives and the business sentiment, GWM continued to deliver stellar performance with monthly sales of 408 units in August to register the All New HAVAL H6 Hybrid SUV as the best-selling compact SUV in the Thai market in the latest month.

The August sales of 408 units for the All New HAVAL H6 Hybrid SUV increased by 27.5%, comparing to the sales in July (320 units). GWM's August sales enabled the All New HAVAL H6 Hybrid SUV to secure 34.3% share of the Thai market for compact SUVs that sold totaled 1,190 units in August. This means GWM has increased its market share by 7.8%, comparing to the shares in August (26.5%) in compact SUVs segment in Thailand. Combined with monthly sales of 320 units in July, GWM has already delivered 728 units of the All New HAVAL H6 SUV to Thai consumers in a two-month period.
The hike to No. 1 position in just two months underscored GWM's ambition to be the xEV Leader. It is also a beautiful development towards its three-year goal to be the automobile brand of choice for Thai consumers. Of these, 12,399 units were sales outside China, which reflects 81.1% growth in the company's overseas sales year on year. HAVAL H6 continued to be GWM's flagship model and the bestseller with contribution of 20,026 units to the company's global sales in August. Moreover, HAVAL H6 successfully defended its title as the best-selling SUV in China for 99 months in a row.
GWM's eight-month sales from January to August 2021 amounted to 784,023 units, an increase of 39.3% year on year. During this eight-month period, overseas sales grew in leaps and bounds by 156% year on year to 86,509 units, which accounted for 11% of the company's sales worldwide during the eight-month period ending August 2021.
