In the "Exceed Excellence with Taiwan Plastic Machines" webinar held on 28 September, 4 Taiwan Excellence award-winning companies were invited to give presentations on plastic processing solutions and their plans to reverse the negative impression connected to the industry. The event was organized by the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) in Taiwan and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) to encourage more sustainable production practices and to help manufacturers seize green business opportunities.
Because many countries have promised net zero emissions by mid-century, improving efficiency and reducing pollution during plastic production are fundamental and urgent issues. It is a goal for Taiwan's plastic industry to show its contribution in combating climate change in the webinar. The 4 companies demonstrating their latest products and technologies are Chumpower, FCS, Polystar and YOKE, all of which are leading brands of plastic machinery and parts in Taiwan and aims to make the plastic industry a greener, safer, and better industry.
Mr. Larry Wei, the Chairman of Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI), was invited to better promote Taiwan's competitiveness in plastic machinery. He stated in the opening remarks that Taiwan is not only one of the top six exporters of plastic machines, but also well-known for its high-quality products and complete after-sales services among its business customers. Moreover, smart control solutions have been introduced in recent years to reduce wastes of materials, power and fluids, said Mr. Wei, so he is confident that Taiwan will become the finest partner for those who intend to create eco-friendly production lines.
Chumpower introduced its latest machines for bottle molding with recycled PET, which can help makers to not only keep the structure strength of bottles, but also reduce the emission of carbon dioxide, and reach the goal of sustainability. FCS recommended its injection machines which can reduce about 30%-70% energy consumption, and the new "iMF4.0" smart management system which can help makers improve the production performance and flexibility. Polystar presented a new machine with patented automatic pelletizing system and smart control, to ensure that the recycled materials can be fully used on the production line and that circular economy is realized. YOKE introduced its lifting products and IoT applications on heavy machines and molds. With the guidance by its self-developed "RiConnectApp", users can have a safer lifting and moving process.
Around 160 people registered online to attend the webinar, who are businessmen and journalists from 10 countries including Germany, Poland, Turkey, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam.
The webinar is in conjunction with TaipeiPLAS 2022, the largest plastics exhibition in Taiwan. More than 300 manufacturers participated in the five-day (9/27-10/1) hybrid trade fair, and the online exhibition will be available until October 27.
Another Taiwan Excellence Event is coming soon. Together with the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturing (FMM), BOFT and TAITRA are going to hold the "Taiwan-Malaysia Smart Machinery" Seminar on November 9, in which three Taiwan Excellence award-winning brands Buffalo Machinery, HONOR SEIKI, and Axisco Precision Machinery will showcase various smart metal processing solutions. The seminar can be regarded as Taiwan's attempt to benefit from the production line upgrades in its neighboring Southeast Asian country, whose metal processing industry is going places.
