Central Pattana plc, Thailand's number one leading real estate developer for sustainability and operator of Central shopping centers nationwide, collaborates with partners including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Thailand, and public-private sector leaders such as the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, Spicy Disc Record Co., Ltd., Muse by Metinee, Bangkok Pride, and Galderma Thailand to announce the transformation of Central shopping centers nationwide into venues for celebrating Pride Month, a global celebration of LGBTQIAN+ pride. This initiative is part of Thailand's Pride Celebration 2024, "Pride For All," aiming to spotlight Thailand on the global stage and pursue the hosting of World Pride 2030. Additionally, it seeks to drive the Thai economy and tourism in Q2.

The press conference was honored by the presence of Mr. Pichai Chirathivat. Executive Director, Central Group Co., Ltd. and Managing Director, Spicy Disc Record Co., Ltd, along with Dr. Nattakit Tangpoonsinthana, Chief Marketing Officer of Central Pattana Plc., Also present were Ms. Poonsri Kiatmaneerat, Director of Cultural Affairs of Bangkok, Mr. Renaud Meyer, United Nations Development Programme: UND, Ms. Metinee Kingpayom, CEO of Muse by Metinee, Ms. Ann Chumaporn, Founder and President of Bangkok Pride parade, Mr. Pirapat Sriwattanawong, Aesthetic Lead Thailand & SEA Cluster and Teayii - Ms. Prapatsorn Kanchanasut, an artist advocating for human equality.

This year, it's uplifting to witness the collaborative effort between public and private sectors in Thailand to amplify Pride Month. Thailand stands out for its inclusive environment, attracting diverse LGBTQIAN+ communities through various avenues. Pride Month not only celebrates diversity but also boosts tourism and the economy. In 2023, over 160,000 tourists joined Pride festivities at CentralWorld, with 520,000 attendees across Central shopping centers nationwide. This year, attendance is anticipated to surpass half a million."

"In addition, We recognize the importance of the Rainbow Economy, a group with high purchasing power and financial potential. According to data from the TAT, this group has a spending power 40% higher than the average tourist, luxurious lifestyles, high brand loyalty, and plays a significant role in driving the economy. Globally, there are over 500 million LGBTQIAN+ individuals, with 288 million in Asia and approximately 4 million in Thailand. It's projected that this population will expand to 1 billion worldwide by 2050. Thailand earns approximately 2.3 trillion baht from tourism within this group, ranking first in Asia and fourth globally, making it a major tourism market."

Central Pattana is hosting Thailand's Pride Celebration 2024, "Pride For All," throughout June at Central shopping centers nationwide. This includes Central Phuket, Samui, Pattaya, Marina, Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai Airport, Khon Kaen, and more.

The event features six highlights, namely:

  • City Pride Parade: Scale up the grandeur with rainbow alliance parades at over 17 branches nationwide. The most anticipated event of the year hailed as the Talk of The Town, has even caught the attention of global media like The Guardian. Muse by Metinee this year is themed "Rhythm of Pride," featuring over 500 celebrities, giant pride wings, and a celebration of marriage equality with an epic finale scene for over 200,000 LGBTQIAN+ participants and a 200-meter-long rainbow flag at CentralWorld front plaza from May 31 to June 1, 2024. Central Pattaya will host Thailand's largest LGBTQIAN+ celebration on June 22, 2024, with a parade of over 100 organizations and more than 10,000 participants as part of the PATTAYA PRIDE MONTH celebration throughout June. Central Samui will hold the largest parade on the island and a Music Festival that will take over the entire island, making it the biggest event in Southeast Asia, attracting over a hundred thousand tourists and organized by RS Multi X. Central Phuket, in collaboration with the local government, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), and partners, will host a Proud Pride parade throughout the old town of Phuket (Dragon Square - Thalang Road). Other tourist city branches, including Chiang Rai, Korat, Nakhon Sawan, Chanthaburi, Khon Kaen, and Hat Yai, will also join the celebration.
  • Pride Market: at 8 branches including centralwOrld: Galderma presents "The Single Market" for the second time, themed #SingleDoesn'tPose by Spicydisc. expanding to fill the entire CentralWorld space for 3 full days, featuring 200 renowned vendors, fashion, food, love-themed fortune-telling, and concerts by Spicydisc artists.   • Pride Iconic Voices: Featuring famous artists and celebrities from the LGBTQIA+ community who stand up and celebrate Pride Month.
