Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding PCL. [SET symbol: RATCH
] today announces its unreviewed consolidated financial report of the Company and subsidiaries in the second quarter of 2005 ended June 30, 2005. The Company recorded net profit of 1,855.34 million baht or earning per share at 1.28 baht, increasing by 328.36 million baht or 21.50% of net profit of 1,526.98 from the same period of 2004.
For the second quarter of 2005, the Company’s consolidated total revenue
was 11,901.44 million baht, consisted of electricity sales of 11,942.31 million baht, interest income of 62.69 million baht, other income of 7.37 million baht, and sharing loss of an associated and joint-venture companies amounted to 110.93 million baht. The Company’s total costs and expenses were 9,744.61 million baht, consisted of cost of sales of 9,630.95 million baht, selling and administrative expenses of 110.81 million baht and other expenses of 2.85 million baht.
Meanwhile, the Company’s interest expense and income tax were 301.49 million baht.
The unreviewed consolidated financial report of Company and subsidiaries in the first half of 2005 recorded net profit of 4,004.57 million baht or earning per share at 2.76 baht, increasing by 942.61million baht or 30.78% of net profit of 3,061.96 from the same period of 2004.
For the first-half of year 2005, the Company’s consolidated total revenue
was 22,834.19 million baht, consisted of electricity sales of 22,601.96 million baht, interest income of 118.04 million baht, other income of 14.92 million baht, and sharing loss of an associated and joint-venture companies amounted to 6.73 million baht. The Company’s total costs and expenses were 18,198.63 million baht, consisted of cost of sales of 17,965.41 million baht, selling and administrative expenses of 227.35 million baht and other expenses of 5.87 million baht. Meanwhile, the Company’s interest expense and income tax were 631 million baht.
Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding PCL is a Thailand leading investment firm in power generation business with total installed capacity of 3,995 Megawatts. At present, the Company wholly owns 5 subsidiaries and 3 associated companies namely;

Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Company Limited, holding 99.99%, is an
operator of Ratchaburi Power Plant in Ratchaburi province with total installed capacity of 3,645 Megawatts.
Ratchaburi Energy Company Limited, holding 99.99%, is an investment arm in small power businesses that use renewal fuel. Currently, it has invested 15% stake in Siam Ethanol Exports Co., Ltd., an operator of Ethanol alcohol manufacturing project for export.
Ratchaburi Gas Company Limited, holding 99.99%, is an investment arm in
power generation business. It currently holds 50% stake in Tri Energy Company Limited.
Ratch Udom Power Company Limited, holding 99.99%, is an investment arm in
power generation business. It currently holds 99.99% stake in Ratchaburi Alliance Company Limited.
Ratchaburi Alliance Company Limited holds 99.99% stake through Ratch Udom
Power Company Limited. which currently held 25% stake in Ratchaburi Power Company Limited.
Associated Company
Tri Energy Company Limited is an operator of 700 Megawatt Combined Cycle
Power Plant located in Ratchaburi province using natural gas as its primary fuel and diesel oil as secondary fuel. The Tri Energy Company Limited is held by Ratchaburi Gas Company Limited at 50% in stake.
Ratchaburi Power Company Limited is an investor of 1,400 Megawatt Combined Cycle Power Plant, using natural gas as its primary fuel and diesel oil as secondary fuel. The project will locate at the facility site of Ratchaburi Power Plant in Ratchaburi province. The Company has invested through Ratchaburi Alliance Company Limited by holding stake at 25%.
Siam Ethanol Exports Company Limited is a licensed ethanol alcohol
manufacturer for export with approximately capacity of 30,000 tons per year in productivity. RATCH takes part by holding 15% stake through Ratchaburi Energy Company Limited.
