Inspired by the top-rated series “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”, the Miami CSI team takes you into the tropical heat and cultural crossroads of Miami, Florida. With the same mind-boggling cases fusing cutting-edge scientific analysis and good old-fashioned detective work, the CSIs dedicate their lives to defend the memory of those who can no longer speak for themselves — the victims.
Horatio Caine (David Caruso), a former homicide detective, heads a group of investigators that include DNA specialist Megan Donner (Kim Delaney), Calleigh Duquesne (Emily Procter), a bilingual Southern beauty with a specialty in ballistics; Tim Speedle (Rory Cochrane), a cocky charmer of an investigator, as well as Eric Delko (Adam Rodriguez), an underwater recovery expert who understands the winding Florida waterways like the back of his hand. Alexx Woods (Khandi Alexander) completes the main cast as the no-nonsense know-it-all coroner. This season, patrolman-turned-CSI Ryan Wolfe (Jonathan Togo) will make his appearance as one of the team’s youngest and most alert investigators.
Winner of the 2003 People’s Choice as Award for favourite Television New Dramatic Series, CSI: Miami proved its immense popularity with television viewers by concluding its second season as the #3 drama in the US. It achieved an American Society of Cinematographer’s award for Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography, and the cast includes two former NYPD stars - David Caruso.
Episode 1 Synopsis
The CSIs discover a sinister murder aboard a yacht-crash when a body is recovered — but with a bullet hole in his head. They follow a trail of clues from the scene to the dead man’s wife, who reveals a delicate plot involving high-quality fake jewellery and an elaborate kidnapping of their son. Inching closer to solving the murder, Horatio Caine and Tim Speedle find themselves caught in an unexpected shootout at a jewellery store where Tim gets fatally shot in the chest. Furious with grief, the CSIs suddenly find themselves racing against time when the last remaining link to the missing boy disappears. Get set for a furious new season of CSI: Miami, and find out how the CSIs cope with the sudden loss of an invaluable colleague and friend.
