Bangkok--Aug 10--SET
Family Know-How, the SET, and Traffic Corner Co-Host the ‘Money Management Awards’ With Over 2 Million Baht in Prizes & A Study Tour to Stock Exchanges Overseas
The Family Know-How Co. Ltd. (FKH) and Traffic Corner Holders Pcl. (TRAF), in conjunction with The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), will host the 3rd ‘Money Management Awards’ (or MM Awards). The three co-hosts welcome all applicants who are in their junior year of college or higher, including graduates, but not older than 25, to participate in the program. Total prizes are worth more than a million baht, plus a great opportunity to visit leading exchanges overseas.
Mr. Ratchapol Laovanitch, President of the FKH (a SET subsidiary), said that the SET aims at creating a firm foundation in financial literacy amongst Thailand’s youth. This will lead to a better quality of life for all because they will be able to better manage their money and will be better equipped to become the driving force behind the nation’s economy.
“The MM Awards in the past 2 years were very successful. Students participating in the program have shown their potential and capabilities, which were astonishing. I believe they’ll be quality investors in the future. The SET, therefore, is willing to encourage the new generation to exhibit their talents. I’m confident that there’ll be stars from the third MM Awards as well”, the FKH President said.
Mr. Suraphong Triamchanchai, CEO of TRAF, announced that 2,000 applications have been received even though the application period has just started.
He continued, “The past two years’ programs were both very active and exciting. We received very good feedback during our campus visits. So I believe this year will be even better and more exciting.”
Mr. Pakdhorn Chaloditorn, MM Ambassador 2004, shared his experiences about participating in the program. Mr. Pakdhorn stated, “The MM Awards are open to everyone. It’s not about winning or losing. The most important thing is that the participants realize their potential through activities such as taking the program’s tests, joining in the study tours, and presenting their work to the judges.
“The MM Awards will be a great opportunity for participants to learn that money management can be applied to their daily lives. I’m confident that after they’ve joined the program, they’ll know that the investment world is not that complicated and learn how to better manage their money effectively. Thus, this is a should-not-be-missed opportunity.”
Aside from the top prize, which is to become the new MM Ambassador, this year there are going to be two additional awards—Insurance Star and Derivatives Star—for outstanding participants who are knowledgeable in insurance and derivatives. The total prizes are worth well over THB2.0 mln.
Interested applicants can apply from today until August 28, 2005. Keep up with what’s going on via the MM Campus Tour activities (if the Tour comes to your school) or browse www.mmaward.com.. There is no application charge.
