The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) will host a SET Roadshow in Ubon Ratchathani on October 8, at 9:00 am — 3:00 pm., at Praipayom Hall, Ubon Ratchathani Rachaphat Institute. Members of the public are invited to join without charge and get a chance to receive investment pocketbooks and other giveaways.
SET Executive Vice President Ms. Sopawadee Lertmanaschai said that this will be the first SET Roadshow in Ubon Ratchathani held exclusively for residents in the province and its vicinity. The event will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2005, from 9:00 am. —3:00 pm. at Praipayom Hall, Ubon Ratchathani Rachaphat Institute.
“The SET and other participating organizations are ready to meet people in Ubon Ratchathani and its vicinity. The trading turnover in Ubon Ratchathani is impressive, as it is ranked no. 1 in the lower Northeastern region. Total turnover during Jan. — Aug., 2005 amounted to THB12.88 bln. (approx. USD0.31 bln.) or approximately THB1.60 bln. per month. The first roadshow to be held in Ubon will boost the interest and participation of investors in the market. The event also shows people that the Northeast is an important focus area for the SET, since it’s the only region where we will host our local roadshow twice this year,” said Ms. Sopawadee.
At this roadshow, visitors will get to enjoy about 20 booths set up by participating organizations, including securities companies, investment management companies, the Agricultural Futures Exchange of Thailand, the SET, the mai (Market for Alternative Investment), the BEX (Bond Electronic Exchange), the Thailand Futures Exchange Pcl., the TSI (Thailand Securities Institute), the Money Channel, the TSD (Thailand Securities Depository Co., Ltd.), Ubon Ratchathani University and Ubon Ratchathani Rajaphat Institute.
Interesting seminars will be held, such as “Strategies for Smart Financial Planning” by Dr. Somchin Sornpaisan from Kim Eng Securities (Thailand) Pcl.; “Investment Strategies to Suit the Rising Interest Rate Trend” by Mr. Sahawat Varcharamartharn from PrimaVest Asset Management, and “Building a Portfolio in the Sportsman’s Style” by Mr. Thiti Tharasuk from Kiatnakin Securities.
The fair attendees will also meet a popular actor, “Louis” Amarin Simaroj, in the seminar session entitled “Easy Investing” which will be joined by Dr. Krisada Patchrawanich from Ubon Ratchathani University and Mr. Siriphol Khemjinda from One Asset Management. Mr. Teerat Ratanasevi from iTV will be the session moderator.
The attendees can also consult investment experts from the “Quality Service Club” in the MBA study room, Common Hall, 1st Floor of Ubon Ratchathani Rajaphat Institute between 10:00 am — 12:00 noon.
Two popular pocketbooks—“Portfolio Management” and “Things You Need to Know to Get Rich: Vol. 4”—will also be given away to the attendees.
