Decision making managements of giant companies will gather at a business roundtable to discuss global and Thai economic directions in 2006 at Intania Forum during the 14th Chulalongkorn Academic Fair.
Under the theme, Executive Engineer Talk, the forum will explore stimulating topic of Winning Business Strategies in 2006, featuring forward-looking ideas of 15 sharp minds in the business world, all graduates of the Engineering Faculty of Chulalongkorn University.
Viset Choopiban, president of Chulalongkorn University Engineering Alumni Association, said that the 7th Intania Forum invites some of the most successful alumni who are running blue chip companies to share their insights on global and Thai economic trends as well as investment possibilities in 2006.
“They are all experts in their own fields that vary from energy, property, telecommunication and transport to financial and banking, monetary and capital markets. Each speaker will present his overall strategies to give players in various industries potential business ideas and opportunities, while discussing investment directions for the coming year,” added Mr. Viset.
Among the 15 business veterans and the topics to be discussed at the forum are:
- Prasert Bunsumpun, president of PTT Public Company Limited, and Kraisi Karnasuta, CEO of EGAT Public Company Limited, to share their opinions about petrol pricing trends and the energy industry;
- Anant Asavabhokin, president and CEO of Land & House Public Company Limited, to discuss property industry outlook;
- Dr. Vichit Suraphongchai, chairman of Siam Commercial Bank Public Company Limited, to express his view on international economy and its impact to Thai industry;
- Boonklee Plangsiri, CEO of Shin Corporation Public Company Limited, and Teerawit Charuwat, president of TOT Public Company Limited, to comment on telecommunication trends; and
- Sumate Tanthuwanit, president of Regional Container Lines Public Company Limited (RCL), to predict future trends of the transport sector.
In addition, Dr. Prasarn Trairatvorakul, president of Kasikorn Bank Public Company Limited, will talk about the Thai economic trend and Apisak Tantivorawong, president of Krung Thai Bank Public Company Limited, will share his view on monetary and banking directions while Pliu Mangkornkanok, CEO of Tisco Bank Public Company Limited, will comment on business directions of newly opened banks.
Top executives in the monetary and capital markets who will discuss the Thai financial market are:

- Veravat Chutichetpong, executive director of Phatra Securities Public Company Limited;
- Yarnsak Manomaiphiboon, managing director of Bualuang Securities Public Company Limited; and
- Montree Sornpaisarn, CEO of Kim Eng Securities (Thailand) Public Company Limited.
Dr. Paiboon Sereewiwatthana will conduct the roundtable discussion.
Intania Forum, co-hosted between Chulalongkorn University Engineering Faculty and its alumni association, will take place on November 26, 2005 from 12.30 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. at the Main Auditorium of Chulalongkorn University.
