THE AMAZING RACE: FAMILY EDITION FINALE
Wed, 14 Dec, 8pm
Only at AXN (UBC 19)
A few months ago, 11 families of 4 embarked on a race like no other around the world, on this 8th season of the 2-time Emmy wining adventure reality series. Now, 11 Pit Stops later, tension is high and the end is near. Only one family will be one million dollars richer at the end of this heart-pounding race.
What will they have to do before reaching the final Pit Stop? At this point, tempers are flaring, family disputes are raising their ugly heads, and stress levels are at their most intense. Will the final teams be able to battle exhaustion and conflict to make it to the final destination — with their family ties intact?
Here’s a look back a few of the race’s interesting teams:
The Paolo Family
The youngest of the family, Brian, is painfully embarrassed by his family and is convinced that he is the only sane one in the bunch; Elder brother DJ is afraid of heights and admits to having a big mouth; Meanwhile their mother, Marion, admits she’s hard-headed, and is convinced that her husband, Tony, lets his sons get away with too much — Will such mixed, conflicted bunch of passionate Italian Americans be able to work together to the end of the race?
The Gaghan Family
The Gaghan Family consists of 2 adults and their young children. Spunky, young Carissa is only 9, while her outgoing brother Billy is 12 — but already, they have proven early on that they are more than able to pull their weight. Can they continue being a valuable part of the team, or will their youth prove to be a hindrance in the race for the million dollars?
The Weaver Family
Since Linda lost her husband and the father to her 3 children suddenly in an accident less than 2 years ago, she has been forced to become both the breadwinner and nurturer to the family. While her son Rolly is running the race in memory of his father, Linda hopes that this Race will alleviate some of the heartache that has plagued her since his death. Will she get what she hopes for?
