Thailand’s Bond Electronic Exchange (BEX) approved the listing of three
public sector bonds collectively worth THB14 billion (approx. USD354 million),
with a par value of THB1,000 per unit.
Bonds were issued during this fiscal year by the Bangkok Mass Transit
Authority (BMTA) worth THB1.0 billion, the Expressway & Rapid Transit Authority
of Thailand (ETA) worth THB1.0 billion, and the Ministry of Finance worth THB12
billion. These bonds will commence trading on the BEX on January 25, 26, and
27, 2006, respectively.
“Listing these three issues will enable bondholders to trade
conveniently, as the BEX will be a secondary market for these bonds and enhance
their liquidity. The BEX is expected to list other bonds issued during this fiscal
year as well,” Mr. Santi Kiranand Ph.D., CEO of the BEX said.
