Thai Airways International Public Company Limited recently ranked first place for “Best Sparking Wine” served in First Class, in a survey conducted by Business Traveller Magazine and Wine International, in the Cellars in the Sky Awards 2005.
Mr. Somchai Sukkhasantikul (left), THAI’s General Manager for the United Kingdom and Ireland, received the award on behalf of the company from Mr. Charles Metcalfe (right), Wine International’s Associate Editor. THAI received the Cellars in the Sky Award 2005 for serving Moet et Chandon Dom Perignon Vintage 1996 Campagne, France, under the “Best Sparkling” category. In the past, THAI received two previous awards for wine excellence from Business Traveller.
For over two decades, Business Traveller has organized the annual Cellars in the Sky Awards. Business Traveller has teamed up with Wine International magazine that organizes the International Wine Challenge. A total of 30 airlines entered a selection of their wines for the blind wine test in the Cellars in the Sky competition.
