Bangkok--Feb 9--TM Industries
TM Industries Co Ltd, generates not less than 25% of its total annual domestic sales by joining Thailand Industrial Fair alone, an annual four-day industrial tools and machinery exhibition held in February at BITEC.
“Exhibition is my first choice when it comes to promoting and launching new products,” said Mr Tanakit Asawasriworakul, deputy managing director of TM Industry Co Ltd, a 100% Thai-owned manufacturer of racks, shelves and cabinets set up in 1993.
“In just four-days of exhibition, I normally could meet with prospects in their hundreds. To have appointments with the same number of prospects without exhibition would probably take me months, if not years,” he said.
“And the beauty of it is that I get to meet them face to face, and that gives me and the prospects an excellent opportunity to talk about business possibilities while actually looking and observing my products,” Tanakit said.
Tanakit said it was during an exhibition that almost all prospects readily listen to sales talks and presentations, who otherwise would be more resistant to sales presentations during a usual sales visit in their offices.
“I categorize prospects I meet in exhibition into three segments. Top priority are those who have projects on hand, followed by those with immediate and long-term plan to expand their projects,” he said.
“To be able to perform well on exhibition floor, I use every marketing tool at my disposal. To mention a few, I offer promo prices, handout souvenirs, organize games and hire ‘pretties’ to draw visitors to my booth,” he said.
“Joining an exhibition and doing nothing but wait for visitors to come to your booth is the wrong way of exhibiting. I say this for a fact as I learned it from more than 15 years of experience exhibiting in various exhibitions,” he said.
“The timing of exhibition is important. I exhibited in a prominent industrial exhibitors, however, I switched to Thailand Industrial Fair as its dates of 9-12 February 2006 at BITEC, and this is the right time,” he said.
“From an exhibitor’s point of view I like seminars held during an exhibition because it brings in qualified visitors. Thailand Industrial Fair does this although its standard booth fee is only about 25- 35% of the fees charged by the so called leading industrial exhibitions,” Tanakit said.
“The venue of an exhibition is critical to the success of an exhibitor. My products are targeted mainly at factories, offices and commercial businesses where around 6,000 are in operations in the Samutprakarn alone, so exhibiting at BITEC is a good business decision,” he said.
