Bangkok--Feb 10--SET The Board of Governors of The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) resolved to appoint Mr. Chanitr Charnchainarong the President of the Market for Alternative Investment (mai). He will be the mai’s third president, following Mr. Vichate Tantiwanich, who has become the Chairman of the mai Advisory Committee. The appointment will be effective February 15, 2006. Mr. Chanitr’s extensive experience and capabilities will bring a lot to his leadership of the mai, whose structure and activities fall under the SET’s Capital Market Opportunity Center. The SET has every confidence that Mr. Chanitr will lead the mai to achieve its goals and mission to serve as a market for businesses with high growth potential. He will also be liaisoning with related organizations to help develop the demand and supply sides for the mai. Mr. Chanitr Charnchainarong received his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University, Indiana, U.S.A. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). Mr. Chanitr’s past positions included serving as an advisory committee member of the mai, a Vice President of Tor Tor Bor 5 Co. Ltd., Managing Director of Siam Radio Co. Ltd., and Manager-Investment Banking for Poonpipat Finance and Securities Pcl. Most recently, he was a Vice President of Vnet Capital Co.
